[quote]Now let's all discuss whether or not we think a hit like that SHOULD be targeting... I vote NOYou [quote]
No, I don’t buy it as targeting he started low and his body momentum carried through the hit. No more than I think the side hit to Milroe could have been considered targeting.
Targeting is a tool tool used to stop aggressive defensive play. We will never see a RB get called for face mask on a stiff arm in most cases or lowering his head and shoulders to truck a defender. That’s why targeting is an offensive weapon for scoring opportunities.

Me too. Agree. Textbook targeting.

There were 10 (TEN) yards difference in penalty yardages!

Once again - the standard rules, definitions, actions do not apply to Alabama @ Bryant Denny Stadium.
Everyone knows what a "review" entails. The refs officially, publicly state....."The previous play is under review", and the refs proceed to look at the replay film, in a box, on the field, in front of everyone, and then arrive & EXPLAIN WHAT/WHY their decision (RULING) IS! This was not done. Instead, and only in Alabama, it gets done privately, in secret. Not even Gary Danielson, Verne and the TV broadcast crew/producers, fans in the stadium, 25 million viewers were informed. And this is what/why it's called bias/cheating/dishonest.
Bama fans are like the Liberal Democrats.

It would have been done according to the rules. As much as Bama fans like it, we all suffer when the sellout SEC officials don't play according to the rules. Now the whole country is seeing that there isn't a level playing field in the SEC, and in the long run, that hurts Bama, too.

I’m only parroting Alabama’s fan’s explanation for when the Tide loses a hard fought game. By their logic and dogma Alabama is perpetually undefeated having never actually been beaten by another squad. It’s a football miracle.
I don’t see why other fan bases can’t adopt this explanation for their losses.
This firm conviction on the part of the Tide faithful seems to bring out the best in them.

Verne hasn’t called SEC on CBS since 2016. You might want to catch up.

"That LSU Guy". Hey I don't know how to respond to a person or post but that dude that told the Down's syndrome jokes was funnier than shite and he is right! He must have a brother like mine. I was joking about saying retard unless the person is saying it to someone who is in a mean way but my brother was born before WWE so it's Tits and Music!

Yes and no. Ultimately our defense cost us the game, but let's not pretend that Alabama had any answers for Daniels before his injury. They only had one stop in the entire game before the tipped interception. If Mason Taylor catches a perfectly thrown ball on the previous drive we probably would have gone on to score.

This is just not correct. The three plays you referenced are not similar. By rule Daniels was a defenseless player. In both of the examples Milroe was a RB and not considered defenseless. Completely different standard on those two situations.
Having said that, the targeting or non-targeting on Daniels did not determine the game (because I feel like the game was over at that point with how pathetic our defense was) Three plays prior to that hit determined the game: (1) the holding call on Blackwell; clearly it was a hold, similar to 15 or 20 other obvious holds on both teams that were not called; (2) the play after the hold when Mason Taylor drops a pass right in his hands that would have been either a first down or a third and very short; and (3) Bama sending a blitz and getting the deflection and pick. At that point the game was likely decided.

The point is that it WAS 100% fricking targeting and Turner should have been ejected. Had he been wearing any other uniform in any other stadium it would have been called. That is the only point, it does not matter what happened after that. He speared Daniels in the head for F’s sake. You people are delusional.
