You also have to consider how many years played. Some on the list only played 3 years vs those that played 4.

If you don’t know who DMac is then you don’t follow football.

The impressive thing about Walker is that he leads the career list for the SEC despite not including Bowl stats and leaving after his junior year. Most guys that end up at the top of these lists play 4 college seasons.

McFadden, Emmitt Smith, Snell, Fournette, Alex Collens, Trayveon Williams and Derrick Henry also deserve more credit due to the 3 years vs 4 years point.

When Texas and OU join the conference, their former players don't transform into SEC players. SEC records are based on what players did while in the conference. A&M's or South Carolina's players stats from before they joined don't count.

George Rogers had 5,204 yards as a RB at SC. He's not on the list because SC wasn't in the SEC when he rushed for any of those yards.

1.Herschel
2. Bo

3. Mc Fadden

4 and all the rest below…you can throw their names in a hat and shake them out.

Fitzgerald was a QB which is amazing because he actually became a decent passer during his career at State. Not bad for a two star recruit.

Shame that fornette is that far back.

Miles decided to run him into the teeth of alabamas five star defensive line.

BAMA D Line during Fournette years were stacked. He was trying to run into a wall

Some running backs you knew were just tough and could get a yard or two when they had to. The other team knew 100% they were getting the ball, still First Down !

I miss old school guys like :

Tony Galbreath

Joe Cribbs

Johnny Musso

( Okay okay I miss adjusting the rabbit ears on our b/w tv from Montgomery Ward for my dad too. )

Hershel, Bo, Emmitt and McFadden. I don’t care what the stats are.

Chubb had 5120 from scrimmage (never a return man).

Dmac had 4995 from scrimmage and another 926 in kick returns.
The problem comparing all those stats is the games were longer and they played more games. Averages are the only way to even begin to compare stats.

I'd take jamal lewis, travis henry, chuck webb, Alvin kamara and traphis Stephens over 95 percent of this list. And that's not even including Arian Foster and Montario Hardesty.

DMac passes Chubb and close to Herschel if you include receiving, return, passing yards

The only stat that would matter here is receiving yards if you are talking about an RB. It's great that DMac could do some trick plays or pass out of the Wild Hog, but he's a QB in that setup.

Return yards are special teams, not running back.

The only guys who come close to Herschel in yards from scrimmage played four years. And also got to use their bowl game stats. Herschel still doesn't which is stupid. Not sure why they don't allow them to be added since they count for all players who've played the last few decades.

all time yards from scrimmage
