He was an NBA coach in the early 2000s when the offense was primarily ISO. He loves him some ISO and high ball screen pick and roll set plays.

Also from that era the only option for defense is man to man.

Would love to see zone for BLOB defense, there isn't any plays for a zone, you just try to get the ball in bounds when defended correctly. With man there is plenty of opportunities for picks that lead to 3s or dunks.

What muss likes from his offense is fine for most situations in a game, but it couldn't be bad to have a simple offense like the flex or a more complex offense like the motion to be ran when the offense falls in a funk during a game or off night from a guy or two shooting the ball or if they aren't getting the calls on the drive.

You won't see this because the team would have to practice it live in practice and Muss never goes live in practice. His practices are a mix between fundamental drills and a film session on the court with notes every where from the scouting report like most NBA teams.

It’s fair to say we’ve put ourselves behind the 8 ball, but after the last 3 seasons it’s still goofy to say we’re 100% not making it

I mean we could finish sub .500 but we’re talented enough we’d stilll be a threat to make a run in the conference tourney

I think the simple way of explaining our current problems is that teams are forcing us to do what they want.

Offensively we aren't being the aggressor and defensively we aren't forcing teams out of their comfort zones.

I look back at the Memphis and North Carolina game and see something we typically haven't under Muss. Players going off.

If we would have contained(limited) Jones for Memphis we win that game easily.

If we would have contained Davis for UNC we would have been in better shape to win as well. We were ahead at the half, then that guy went off on us.

Hopefully this team will figure it out because there is potential to be a great squad. We have plenty of scoring options, and we have athletes that are more than capable of playing better defensively.

It basically comes down to attention to detail, and a "I'm not going to lose this game, and I'll do whatever it takes" mentality.

Moving forward hopefully we see a team that plays relentless defense for the ENTIRE game. And on offense I want us to impose our will on opponents. Stop thinking and play basketball.

You’d think some changes would have been made after those two games.

Seems to not be the case. Team looked like game 1 or 2 yesterday.

Yeah I thought overall we played way better in our losses to Memphis and UNC than we did yesterday. Those 2 losses didn't really bother me. The UNCG and OU games, we've just looked really bad

We were 20-50 40% which isn't AWFUL, but we allowed OK to shoot 25-49 51%.

Any time we would go on a little 4-6 point run they would come right back and answer with one of their own. That comes down to the effort, and attention to detail I mentioned.

Our point total in yesterdays game(70) was our lowest this year.

As a team we will probably have the highest PPG total since Muss has been here. My only advice to Muss would be to allow our guards to get to the rim earlier in the shot clock.

So the key to having a successful season going forward will be our defensive execution. Until some of our guards can prove they can compete for 40 minutes straight, on that side of the court, I imagine Muss will go with bigger/more defensive minded lineups.

I think it's too early to let go of the rope. Just remember we have enough talent to win these games. It all comes down to effort.

With the exception of uncg, Memphis, nc and okie are good teams.

That home loss was bad but the neutral court games were, well, sucked.

We’re 6-4 and capable of winning games but are Jeckyl and Hyde right now.

I don’t know what to expect, as usual…

We can't afford to start slow in conference play racking up bad losses this year, unless the goal is the NIT.

Still can't quite get a pulse on this team. They look capable of beating anyone, but have the ability to go cold and lose to someone they shouldn't.
Don't seem to have that killer instinct yet either.

I trust Muss to get it done but his sideline antics are starting to get old. Grow up a little bro. Stop with the temper tantrums.

Maybe there’s still some injury management happening, but Graham was very productive on both sides of the court. Would love for him to get more of Mitchell’s minutes.

Lunardi's bracket we weren't even on the bubble or next 4 out. At least it's early and meaningless.

Our net ranking is just terrible so it’s understandable until we do something to change that

Potential No. 1 pick Ron Holland has looked UNSTOPPABLE with @gleagueignite. The 6’8”, 18-year-old is averaging 25.8 PPG, 7.6 RPG, and 2.8 SPG on 54.4% FG over his last five (with two games of 30+). For the season, he’s putting up 19.3 PPG and 6.6 RPG. Holland has a great combination of size, athleticism, and a motor that allows him to be a terrific rebounder and defender, in addition to his offensive abilities.

Menifield cleared to play. Might help our point guard rotation

Hopefully, this will make Ellis have less minutes. I like Ellis, but he and Davis together are killing us on the offensive end looking out for themselves to make sure they get their shots.

Menifield is a better Ellis. In almost every way.

I’m taking my grandson to his first Razorback basketball game tomorrow. It’s been years since I’ve been able to attend any games and this ticket business on the phone is taking some getting used to. Plus not using cash is different.

He’s 11 now so maybe he can help me out on how to do this stuff..haha.

We’re going early, for anyone who’s attended games there is there a chance of him getting any autographs and such?….thanks
