I said the same thing! Burton looked like he barely tried for it. He could have laid out for that ball and caught it. There was a lot of half arse effort from certain guys on that offense yesterday.

Burton was one of our best players man... smh.
The throw was too far

I don’t think I saw enough to know Ty Simpson is better than Milroe but I do know Saturday was the last day Buchner will ever be above him on the depth chart.

Burton did what he could. Just overthrown.

I thought that way too but it was overthrown by Buchner. Re-look at it again, Burton put a lot of effort trying to get that ball.
Buchner has a severe overthrow problem.

Our O-Line especially.

Milroe is a team leader? So a black QB on a 90% black team becomes the team leader even with his shitty play?
Is that your story?
Is that your story?

Great analysis! Nice try though...
#69 didn't block anybody! Go back and watch it. The first thing I said when seeing this was...there was two guys blocking the same guy on that play.
That was off the top of my head I remembered it. I went back to look at it to be sure and guess what...
I was right!
Ty Simpson will learn from it but you placing the blame on him is crazy...

I mean somebody, presumably Saban, had him lead the team out of the tunnel. Then he was a massive cheerleader throughout the game when people of lesser character would be pouting
I get the kid sucks, but my God some of y’all have let the hate get a little out of control

Pretty sure Bateman was the #2, not Cornwell

Not trying to be combative, really trying to understand where you are coming from. What makes you believe that Milroe would have been successful with the way the OL played yesterday? Every issue Simpson had, holding the ball, not reading the rush, taking sacks that were avoidable, etc. were evident from Milroe the week before. Why would he have been better yesterday with the line play arguably worse than they did vs. Texas?
Because they were killing us on speed rushes around the tackles and you can’t do that against Milroe because it creates running lanes.
To speed rush Milroe around the end, you have to use a LB spy, so 5 guys. If you bring a 4 man rush with no spy, you have to mush rush.
That’s why the OL looked worse yesterday than against Texas. USF didn’t have to worry about rush lane integrity or getting beat over the top. Their 220lb rushers were just getting upfield as fast as they could and our 360lb tackles couldn’t keep up.

I see where you are coming from, BUT I think a lot of us saw Milroe scramble right into the rush, or inexplicably refuse to use his feet when he had open field. If he can be a one read and take off guy, I think we could work with that. But he can’t see the field well enough now to do more (and sometimes his one read goes horrendously wrong). Being a third year guy, that is concerning as far as his ceiling goes.
And just to add, this isn’t meant as a gotcha at all. We all see things differently. I hope that we as fans will be behind whoever comes out first against Ole Miss. if it is Milroe,I’ll be behind him and hope he plays great. If it is Simpson, I’ll do the same.

I’m not saying saying Milroe didn’t make some awful decisions against Texas. He did. Whether those are fixable or not, I don’t know.
But I know that the guys yesterday couldn’t move the ball against a bottom 10 FBS defense and didn’t intimidate them one bit.
Ball security is obviously important, but simply not turning it over isn’t good enough if you can’t score more than 17 on a D like USF playing that way. That might get is a 2-6 record in the SEC play.

I vehemently disagree. Ball security is why Bama lost to Texas. With this team which has a strong defense and a young offense that has a lot of work to do ball security is paramount.

17 points was never beating Texas.

I wouldn't be surprised if Simpson transfers to Tennessee. Isn't Joe Milton a senior. And I think Simpson is from Tennessee. Would be ironic if he transfers to Tennessee and lights us up next year.

Saban just named him QB2, so it'll be interesting to see how much playing time he gets the rest of the way.
