Bentley managed to get through more than 90 percent of the season but he’s just not very durable.

The only difference is that Kiffin is the first “business mindset” coach that we have had in my lifetime. He doesn’t believe in superstitious bullshite and just has his team prepared every single week the same way. We are on the cusp of being an elite program because of that mindset. This is the most excited I’ve been about our program and it’s trajectory in my lifetime. Not that they’re relevant right now but I’ve never seen such a wide margin one way or the other between Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Lebby will be good for them but we can bury them if we win 10+ again next year and make the playoff

I agree about Kiffin except against Saban. 2020 was awesome with a undermanned squad, but otherwise feels like he has a block against Bama. The opposite of Sark. Fortunately we don’t play either next season

The biggest hurdle for both MSU and OM from competing nationally is each other. We need to completely bury them as a program so we can start pulling the top talent in this state consistently. It isn't an rivalry thing....it's just what needs to be done.

This is the bigger point I suppose. On 247 state only has 1 of the top 10 in the state (granted they have quite a few in the 11-20 range). We’re more battling Bama and others for the top 10. I would have no complaints about dropping them out of the equation though

This is the area that helps build depth. And they're recruiting this year is going to be arse after this past season and a coach with zero time on the recruiting trail. Usually when something like this happens to one of us, the other is never able to capitalize.
If Lebby disappoints and we keep the train rolling, this is how you become the true dominant program in the state. Welcome back to the Vaught years.
