Too many holding penalties on offense but otherwise sharp. Our defense looked slow

Unconfirmed, but sounds like Wolfe broke his collarbone. He can't catch a break, he's been injured for 3 years straight

Honestly I’m just happy only giving up 7. Again I know it’s jus Mercer, but the fact that we held ANY team to 59 scoreless minutes of football is an improvement from last year

Gotta remember that we replaced a ton of people on defense as well as a Coordinator. They need time and reps to come together.
It was also Mercer.....we aren't going to show our entire defense package against Mercer. We played very vanilla.
I'm not saying I'm expecting them to be world beaters....but it's difficult to judge against bad competition.

It definitely was embarrassing to the entire unit. Hopefully that entire side of the ball including Pete got their asses chewed immediately after.

Yeah I thought the defense looked fine today after the first play. Collapsed well on the ball. Got pressure. Created some turnovers. Gave up 0 points other than that first play. Likely kept it all pretty vanilla.
