I couldnt read the story, paywall.

I saw some references that he didn’t play football until his junior year and that the Tuohy’s allowed him to, he had previously only played basketball and track. Which would make their involvement earlier.

In another interview Mike said the main thing that vexed him about the movie was it showing him as being totally ignorant of football and having to be taught by Leigh and family, which he said was way off because he had been following it for years. But he didn’t mention that he had won those accolades prior to their involvement, which is strange.

I was digging through many links on this when I realized I don’t really care, have no dog in the hunt at all, it’s just a nice story that would be nice if true.

Honestly no one in the country cares more about this story than Meddog. He's been crying about The Blindside on this site since it's release.

You don’t do business with people who
feel entitled. That looks like both parties here. 30-40 million in career earnings and
knowing he is set for life and it still isn’t enough.

Barely

Knoxville is 5+ hours away. 5h 33min

LSU is 5 hours 44 min

Ole Miss is just over an hour at the time and with I269 open now, it’s only an hour.

That is the victim mentality. Take Michelle Obama for example. She went to the finest schools for free on set asides. Was passed even though her masters thesis appears to have been written by a high school student (it's online). She came out of school straight into a $250,000 a year Affirmative Action job. Was living in then White House. Then stood and said, "America has been unfair to me."

Same story here. Someone has convinced him he is a "victim".

The people who told him that he is family lied to him and treated him like a chump. He was 18 years old at the time. "But he was an adult and should have known better (not to trust them)".

The victim hood isn't about the money. It is about the trust with the people he felt that he should be able to trust the most.

If you don't see a victim, there is nothing that will change your mind. You are jaded to the story. Jaded to his wealth. Jaded that your team didn't screw him over first.

He made THE LEAGUE and was paid $34 million.

Yeah, he really got screwed over. I wish somebody would screw me over like that.

Very much so and I'm not ashamed to admit it. If what he said happened actually did happen...then that's BS, it sucks, and the Tuohy's are garbage.

But dude went from living in an awful Memphis hood to making deep into the 8 figures. I'm having a very difficult time sorry for how his life transpires.

And now he has a book deal.

This is not reality, you are basing your opinion on a fictional movie. Oher was already a top football recruit when the Touhys brought him in, clearly in order to steer him toward their alma mater, Ole Miss. Don't be fooled by the Hollywood spin.

He would have made the league anyway.

Do you really think that the scouts came calling because RJ made a tape?

He was already getting offers before he moved in to the Tuohy house.

College (and the NFL) use projections when they are evaluating who they want to bring on board.

Why do you think he wants to end the conservatory?

The movie sequel is going to be a real bitch to the Tuohys.
