I didn't realize the amount of OT ballers we had in here. I might have been the poorest I've ever been in my life, but I was also the happiest. My go-to was similar to this:

quote:

I went to Kroger most days looking for sale meat and typically combined it with pasta or rice and some sort of sauce.
Except it was A&P for me since I could walk there. Every now and then on pay day, I'd splurge and get the 5 for $5 at Arby's as also mentioned. A $1 bagel from the Goal Post.

Late 90's/early 2000's, Byron's had a lunch deal a few days a week that was 2 sandwiches, chips and a drink for like $3.50 or something like that. I probably ate hundreds of those. I got into a Funyuns phase there for some reason.

those were just my go tos when I had money that wasn’t spent on beer. Otherwise I usually bought a whole turkey and made it last a week…sliced it into sandwich meat, made turkey salad, turkey quesadillas, turkey grilled cheeses and then use the bones for a turkey soup. Could make a $15-20 turkey into 10-15 meals easy.
