What does that have to do with Stoops feasting on a bad division for 4 of the last 5 years?

This thread has been solid, don't come in here shitting in your hands and tossing it everywhere.

I wouldn’t hire a 70 year old coach. Kirby or Beamer.

I’m blaming shitty, lazy, arrogant coaches.
Competent coaches win and win big at Auburn
It’s no secret that our boosters have been meddlesome. When coaches win they are left alone. This isn’t a problem unique to Auburn

It’s Kirby by a country mile.

Saban would still be an immediate upgrade for 98% of programs even at age 102.

Heupel is interesting. I’d be excited to have him.

Kelly is a weird little creep, but a good coach.

Kiffin is a wild card and will leave you for an upgrade if he has a couple good seasons.

Freeze isn’t worth the sanctions and destruction he will surely leave behind.

The rest are pretty uninspiring.

For what, exactly? Have you been in a coma the last couple of years?

If any other SEC school had hired him, you’d be piling on. Enjoy your handful of 10-win seasons, they will be vacated by 2028.

No, I wouldn’t. He’s a hell of a coach and recruiter

Again, vacated for what?

1. Kirby 2. Saban 3. Kelly 4. Heupel 5. Freeze

Freeze 5th on this Bama fan’s list and he hasn’t even coached a game.

Word on the street is the big Whig doners and the administration haven’t been this “on the same page” since 1989. When all the power brokers at AU are on the same page, great things happen. It might take until year 3, but Freeze is going to take Auburn back to its rightful place: Top 12 or 13 program with a shot at the national title every 5-7 years or so.

1983 we were robbed
1988 we were dang close
1993 we were unbeaten
2004 we were unbeaten
2010 we won the Title
2013 we were a play a way from winning the title
2017 we were a game away from the playoff.

7 times in a 35 years we were close to winning it all or having a shot to win it all. The past 5 seasons have not been typical Auburn football. Freeze is about to get us back to Auburn football.

When coaches win, they win despite the meddlesome boosters who never leave things alone.

As I said, Auburn is a dumpster fire to coach at.

You literally named 1 of 5 years.

There are lots of ways to measure it.
But I'm pretty sure the cross division records have not favored the West 4:1.

Without looking it up, I would guess 2-2-1

I think Stoops is a solid coach. But I can’t argue with his placement on the list. Maybe over Sark and Pittman. They’ve never won 10 games and Stoops has twice.

Again, not a problem unique to Auburn.
Your boosters should’ve been more meddlesome in 2013.
I won’t apologize for accepting mediocrity when you are being payed $5-7 million/year.

How come he wasn't fired when he went 8-4 almost forever!

Because we are typically an 8-4 type of program most years. He ran a clean program and was a good ambassador.
He quit recruiting in his last season and refused to make any changes to the offense. That’s why he was finally fired.
It was pretty clear that he wasn’t going to win the SEC again, so it was time to move on

Who has stoops beat? No one of significance. Does he have a winning percentage vs any top schools? No.
