Those schools all do share a substantial losing record against Texas and had they been on the opposite side of that record, perhaps they wouldn’t have moved.

There’s a post earlier where Frank Broyles explained why we were looking elsewhere. It’s a good listen all around.

Crazy to think that to a 13 year old, Texas AM has been more relevant than Texas in their lifetime…
South Carolina has won more football games than Texas since Spurrier took the Gamecocks to Atlanta and Mack's program collapsed going 5-7. the year was 2010.

When tu can't cheat they lose. In the SWC days because of their law school they dominated the state legislature. They cheated as much or more than the Aggies did but they had cover from elected leaders. Think dimtards and doj of today and you get the picture.

Revisionist history is exactly right. Loftin said we could still play the game any time if the horns were up for it. That doesn’t sound like running away. DeLoss Dodds saying they wouldn’t schedule us and convincing other Texas schools not to schedule us sounds more like running away.

You make my point. The Ags always paid for their sins while tu got cover from the powers that be.

SMU had a law school and tons of money, and they got the death penalty. I'm assuming you think Texas is behind that too?

In my over 20 years of living in Texas, I have never once met a state politician who went to SMU.

You don't have to explain. Texas sucks. We don't want them. I'm pissed they joined. Idgaf about Oklahoma. I would take fricking Clemson over Texas, that's how much I hate Texas. I want Texas gone. I hate Texas. I hate Texas fans. I hate "Texas is back". I hate it all. Go away Texas. I blame ATM for bringing this scourge upon us.

How do you blame A&M? They seem to hate Texas as much as you do.

You think Texas joins the SEC if Texas A&M never leaves the Big 12? This is absolutely their fault. And they didn't even capitalize on the 10 years they had without us.

Texas has no clue what they are doing right now. So they said F it, let’s try this. Maybe it will work.

I’m still laughing.

In the big 12 they probably make the 12 team playoff every other year with their politics.

Now, LOL

Hey OP, the other SEC schools saw what they did in the conferences they were in. Now I get it, it’s not the same as dealing with them but they are not clueless.

Poor babies. Those mean old Longhorns how dare dare they.

Ask the Aggies to name one rule in the Big 12 that we took advantage of that they didn't vote in favor of.
They're just butt hurt that we took better advantage of it than they did.
They were all for those tier 3 rights until we took advantage of it and they didn't.

We do have some arrogance issues that we need to address I'll give them that but don't believe the Aggie victim card

You have a good point. We shouldn't be talking about anyone running away.

For me it wasn’t just about longhorns, it was the entire state and schools. We were the red headed stepchild and were treated that way. Not just in football but in basketball as well. The list of screwings is too long to list but getting away from that crap was a wonderful thing and though we knew football was going to be brutal it was well worth it.

The problem was Arkansas was the only non Texas school so you had to deal with Texas politics with little pull of your own

SEC has never been dominated by a single programs political pull. It’s a pretty fair conference for the most part and I don’t think Texas will be able to change that. They aren’t that good anyways these days

Yeah I understood then why Arkansas left and it still makes sense now. Being the only non Texas school they were always at a disadvantage politically and I would have made the same move they did at the time.

I went to bed. A&M left because there was no confidence in the Big 12 or any trust with Texas. There was no running away. Don't try to change facts when you got outmaneuvered.
