To be honest, I'm not sure why coaches and teams show up. Didn't the regular season decide the conference champion?

All they do is burn up arms so the SEC can rake in more cash and keep athletes out of the classroom even more.

Athletic Directors ought to stand up for their players and say, "no thanks, we'll wait for regionals to start".

It’s not completely worthless. I would just compare it to more like a midweek series of games. Rest who you need to rest. Get some reps for who you need to get some reps.

Except for those teams that didn’t get done everything they needed to get done resume wise during the regular season.

Not sure I'd want a team that has been playing 4 games a week to sit idle that long.

It may give everyone a break but it may destroy any kind of positive momentum as well.

Baseball is a weird sport.

Not worthless for lower seeds. Pretty much worthless for the higher seeds that are already locked in to host
