Well, we will be playing Alabama for the men's basketball championship next weekend, while LSU is sitting in the cellar at 2-13. So I think the answer to your question is ... yes

Sentinel moment:

Aggy fans of the secRant are forced to act as if this is a basketball thread and publicly agree with the PoliBoard’s tragic loser aggieHank.

Aggie Hank, tell me about this permanent scheduling thing with basketball, please.

What? They were what? Who's they?

Your so called record was largely run up against a totally military school during war years.

So we're throwing away 1939? Or do you get the keep the good parts of this illegitimate era?

Since then it’s pretty even.

This would've been true if you said it in your No-TV-No-Bowl year of 1994, when A&M came within 2 games (since 1964 when A&M integrated). Since then, Texas has gone 12-5 against you.

You can do whatever you want.
We don’t often trot out our 1939 championship; others/rivals bring it up in an attempt to use it as an insult.

No clue why you/your ilk cling to win/loss records from generations ago—long before you lived—but it is what it is.
Ags don’t get wound up over it.

Funny, I’ve also been called an LSU, UGA and Bama fan. May as well add the too!

I am having trouble interpreting all of that gibberish, but in the last 50 years the record is 20-19. Yes, you lead by one game.

If you want to back up to 1971 (the year that women were first admitted on a basis equal with men), you get two more wins. 22-19

Pure domination. Kudos.

Honestly I don't think LSU and Aggie are any more of a rivalry than Miss State vs LSU. Just another game.

Strongly disagree. LSU-Aggy has become a rivalry.

Not as important as Texas-TAMU, but still a rivalry.

I hate losing to Aggy. That 7 OT theft job and last year's game made me ill.

That tracks. I'll help you out: the other A&M poster marked the cutoff as the time A&M started admitting women, which was 1964.

But I get why you'd want to start counting at the point A&M started cheating and had a run of wins. Congratulations on the 80s and 90s. I don't need to pick and choose the time span, because we dominate the 100+ years we've been playing.

Like someone said, they followed us here, so the least we can do is agree to let them be our rival.

How many big brothers in the SEC is that for your guys now?

They were not invited, they begged to join. Big difference.

Between the long history, geographical location, giant fan bases, both having tons of Alum in Houston, and all the hate being brought since we joined has turned it from a lukewarm OOC rivalry to a pretty intense one.

They just dismiss the Texas wins that occurred outside the only time period they consider legitimate, which is basically in the 80s and early 90s, culminating in the 1994 season where they were banned from TV and a bowl game.

Texas was 30-3-1 vs A&M from 1941-1974.

During the war and postwar, A&M was historically bad. I mean Kansas State/South Carolina/Columbia bad.

Several SWC schools won real (AP/UPI) national championships decades before Texas did (SMU/TCU/A&M).

Prior to 1940, Texas was 21-15-4 vs A&M, and after 1974 the records are 19-19. So, the lopsidedness of this rivalry was from 1941-1974 with two major contributions. On Texas's part, they had a legendary coach that won a lot of games and really kinda put them on the map. On A&M's side, A&M really struggled to recruit to an all military school in the post war years and then made the situation worse with bad coaching hire after bad coaching hire, save for Bryant.

Just don't let the Texas false bravado fool you. They ran the record up under a legendary coach who was able to stack talent on the sideline without scholarhip limits in a period of time when A&M couldn't punch its way out of a paper bag. Kudos to them for taking advantage of the situation, but the real story is different from what they will tell you.

It’s always funny how Aggie likes to create date ranges in their series records to make them favorable for the cult. Let me give it to you straight. Until Aggie wins something, you’re just another lower tier program in the SEC.

It’s all true Marilou…for 80 years you played against an all military school. Since the end of the Vietnam war, the last draft…the record is pretty even. The problem is tu is long past its glory days. You are nothing but a smaller liberal arse school in a shitty liberal town. A&M has already become THE university in Texas, and you little liberal dicks can’t handle it. Lol. We were established first, have grown bigger than you, our grads command bigger salaries, our facilities and campus is growing and has room to spread. Our endowments are rapidly catching up to your’s. A&M is a vibrant growing world class university, Texas is a musty old has been. Sux to be you. Lol.
