Death penalty case for shooting at someone in car? Good on Alabama if so. Maybe some of the La Legislators who visit this site can pass a similar law here. Too many vehicle to vehicle shootings here.

Death penalties don't mean much when it would be 30 years before it is carried out.

The worst part is that she had a small child. frick.

Hopefully Oates will make sure this kid is taken care of since he recruited TPOS that caused it.

Man no words to say. It's a shame for this young man to go from D1 collegiate athlete to felon.

Prayers to the family of the young lady

It may turn out that Miles was a passenger and not the shooter. Even if so, he has a world of trouble to deal with and it’s all his fault for being part of the wrong crowd. The capital murder charge may get reduced, but he still should pay dearly for his actions.

He's an adult. If he's convicted of capitol murder, the only possible sentences are death or life without parole.

Somebody's gonna get a pretty good small forward for their cell block team pretty soon down at Kilby.

If it turns out he pulled the trigger then I say fry his arse. On the other hand, I feel like the death penalty is getting off easy. But also, why pay to keep him in prison for life? Either way, frick him for his stupid choices.

This is like the Baylor basketball scandal

So far it doesnt look that way.

In the Baylor situation you had a mentally ill player kill another player. The real reason it became a scandal was because they victim's tuition was being paid for by the coach (out of the coach's pocket). After his death, the coach tried to smear the deceased in order to cover his own tracks (tried to say he was a drug dealer and thats how he got the money for tuition). Super low thing to do.

I don't really see anything so far to compare the two situations other than murder and basketball.

This was not like the Baylor basketball schedule. Coaches at Baylor, administration at Baylor, Waco, police department, all tried to cover it up.

That isn't what happened. Read my above post. Baylor Basketball story always gets poorly described on here.

Shooting at a car right outside the Houndstooth on the strip. Tons of innocent college kids enjoying a Saturday night could have been easily injured or killed because these people couldn't control themselves. Happening way too often

Another option would be to just not kill innocent people just saying

I hope that is what sticks.

But these things always seem to get plea down to lesser charges.

Whichever one didn't pull the trigger might get end up with something less, but at least one won't ever be a free man again.

High profile murders of young mothers don’t usually get pled down in Alabama.

Whomever pulled the trigger MAY can get a deal for life without if he pleads guilty before trial but that’s about it. If the prosecution needs the accomplice’s testimony he might get a chance to plead to a charge with an eventual parole chance but that’s his only shot too.

If the evidence is there, and with such a fast arrest it probably is, they are gone.
