I watched 2 full Tulsa games and 1 liberty game over the past few days.

Montgomery and Freeze should mesh very well. Offense is very similar with similar concepts there should be no conflict of interest with either. Freeze runs the ball a little more Montgomery passes a little more. I think the quality of running backs available at Auburn will make us just a hair run heavy but I think both coaches will be fine with that.

Differences - Freeze uses an H-back/TE more and spreads the field with WRs. Montgomery uses bunch sets on both sides of the OL out a 4 wide set a lot. I would expect we would use more H-back/TE in our base. Who is the H-back? Is it Sean Jackson? or Luke Deal? I'm sure the new TE will play a factor some there but I have no idea how he blocks inside. Freeze tends to use more motion then Montgomery.

Similarities - Both are no huddle guys but aren't really hurry up guys, both are check with me coaches, they do vary tempo but rarely go full nascar mode. Both seem to work levels well in man to man and both have good zone beaters as well as sit down routes. Both use some crossing routes but less then I expected over the course of a game. Both take 6-8 shot plays out of the pass game but have intermediate levels to go along with them. Freeze and Montgomery's run game will look very similar to Malzahn's.

My take is they will be kind of 40-40 guys. Wanting 80 plays per game with good pace and 40 rushes and 40 passes. Reality I think we will lean 45 rush 35 pass the first couple years until they have time to develop their own QBs and OL.

I will go ballistic if PM gets away from the Freeze use of the TE. That is a tad bit of a concern.
