Wrong.
Even though the odds are slim as he seems an NFL coach first and foremost, DeMeco Ryans is probably the first person they'll at least try to get.
I think they go after Dabo first. I like DeMeco, but he's never been a head coach and will most likely stay in the NFL. I don't like a lot of Dabos antics, but hes still one of the best in the business.

Kiffin is who I’m thinking only because he’s the only one with an ego big enough to not let Sabans shadow bother him

As of today, I'd be pulling for Kiffin or Dabo if I was a Bammer, but Saban probably has at least 3-4 years left, who knows who will be the hot commodity when the GOAT finally decides to retire...

I have been back and forth on Dabo for years. But I’m beginning to think he doesn’t have the ability to adapt.
I’m all in on Kiffin for now. But we are still talking a few years from now. There could be other great, young coaches emerge.

huh?
Since Dye at Auburn, Alabama has had 5...
Stallings
DuBose
Franchione
Shula
Saban
Price never coached a game at Alabama because he hired hookers on company time. Yes, I realize that Auburn hired a guy that hired multiple hookers on company time and they knew it when they hired him.
Nontheless, if you count an interim that never coached a game you have to count the interims at Auburn that actually did coach games. Bill Oliver and Steele come immediately to mind.

Freshwater! Joey turned down Auburn knowing that he will replace the GOAT!

Wait what?
Since Dye, Auburn has had Bowden, Tubs, Chizik, Malzahn, Harsin, and now Freeze.
Where in the world are you getting 8 from????

the easy guesses would be Swinney or Kiffin

Chiz counts as two and GusBus counts as three?
That’s approximately 11.

I don't see Dabo's personality working well at Bama...especially following Saban. They're polar opposites.
I still think he gets a call, and maybe he takes it, idk...but I doubt his schtick would work there versus Clemson. Y'all would've sent him packing after losing 3 straight to Auburn.
Kirby ain't going anywhere. If Sark builds something at Texas, he'd theoretically have no reason to leave.
Kiffin or some other hot commodity at the time would be the best bet.
In reality, you're going to end up with a Ron Zook following Spurrier situation before you find the next guy, if the timing ain't right for a replacement hire.

Dabo or Kiffin are two most obvious. Ryans is highly thought of in NFL circles (& for good reason). Believe he’ll have a shot at HC gig in the league sooner rather than later.
Edit: I sure hope Houston brings him back.

Hie entire tenure has been mediocre at best considering the competition, outside of having 2 mega elite 1st round NFL starters at QB that would each robably be the best QB in many other schools' entire history.
Granted, he recrruited those guys there to play so I'm not saying it doesn't count. What I am saying is that in the roughly 10 years he's been there without those guys he's been barely above average.

This comment shows how ignorant you are in you believe Saban fell into Alabama's lap.

Will wade once oates leaves for Texas

The people making the decision are likely going to look for someone buttoned-up like Saban, who will not bring any type of the slightest embarrassment to the program. That's 100% not Kiffen, plus they already fired him once. Kiffen has matured a little since then, but he is a big kid and will always be a big kid. Look for Dabo as number one choice and BK as number two.
