Big opportunity against the beakers at home on the 10th.

Hope to have the SEC support for that one.

That Clemson win is keeping us up there.

We are way overrated. There should be high school teams ranked ahead of us.

Switch Arkansas with Tennessee and Bama with Kentucky and the list is spot on.

How has South Carolina fallen so far? It doesn’t seem like that long ago you guys were making deep runs in the tourney.

KenPom is great but sometimes confusing.

Nothing against Kentucky, but they have 2 losses and a SOS ranked 249th.

Contrast that with Purdue, who is undefeated against an SOS ranked 20th and sitting 3 spots below them.

At least one interesting tidbit:

Alabama is the only team in the top 25 in offense, defense and tempo.

I'm surprised we're even this high based on the way we've played. A VERY light schedule and a few too many "this seems closer than it should be" type games. We have played a couple good games (Akron, New Orleans come to mind). But we really blew it against KSU, who maybe is a decent team (haven't lost yet, but get the feeling they will be bottom half B12 when all is said and done). Were up 41-33 at halftime, 47-37 even in the in 2nd half...then we scored 4 points in a near 10 minute span from 16 min left to 6 min left.

We play UT-Arlingtopn (whoopie) this week and then at least Wake Forest next week. Losses to KSU and Wake wouldnt be a good way to enter conference play even if those are only 2 losses, we just played practically nobody.

This team looks like a championship contender too. Old with ridiculous depth.

Kenpom still have some influence from last season in its formula. It isn’t until about 10 games in until that influence is pretty much removed.

I like we are loved by the metrics but doesn’t mean anything this early.

Obvious observation here: but damn pretty cool how the SEC is now clearly one of the best conferences in basketball every year now. The quantity of good coaches in this league now is just ridiculous when you compare where the overall SEC basketball landscape was just a few years ago.
