Yeah it’s where it belongs but this thread went off the rails long ago.

Mississippi has 2,507 miles of rail tracks.
Alabama has 3,227 miles of rail tracks.
Solidly proves that Alabama has more hobos than Mississippi.

Bah.
The best lake near Clemson is Keowee. The nuclear reactor keeps it nice and sterilized.

Makes sense... see they are for flood control. Having a bunch of homeowners with docks bitching about changing water levels wouldn't be great for the army corps making the decision to raise/lower the water level.

Two hour drive to a type of civilization, lake or beach. In AUs case you have Atlanta, Birmingham, Lake Martin and a little longer drive to the Gulf coast.
What would other schools show?
Remember, location, location, location.
I'm not going to get in a pissing contest over which is better between Mississippi and Alabama. Seems a trophy not really worth earning in the grand scheme of things.
But I will ask if you actually believe coaches care that much about where they are beyond possibly proximity to recruits? Do you actually believe that many of the premiere programs are so because of the location, place like Columbus, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, or Norman?
These guys aren't worried about how long a drive it will be in a loaded up minivan when they want to get out of town with the family. Coaches at these schools are multimillionaires with connections to donors who will fly them wherever whenever just to go brag to the other boss hog alumni that they got to fly coach on their jet.
These guys would probably coach in the Seventh Circle of Hell if they thought Hell had the resources to build a championship program and pay them handsomely for being the head of it.

False. Lake Ouachita is more clear than both.
Baw, I have stood neck deep in Greer's Ferry and looked down at my toes. I've never done that at Ouachita.

This is now the Lake Kiffin thread.
Some of that has to do with max depth and whether they are used for hydro-electric power generation.
Beaver and Ouachita are both over 200 ft deep in places. Greers Ferry is nearly 500 ft max depth. Sardis is 76' if the internet is to be believed.
Beaver has a hydroelectric dam, so they alter flow easily so the levels are more predictable. There are dry times and flood times, but the water level is more consistent. There are no seasonal deliberate draw-downs like there are in some shallower lakes.
Travis is deep, but in more of a drought and flood prone area than the Ozarks.

I've given them bass an arse whipping on Lake Ouachita before. Fun lake. I'd take it over Sardis and Martin.

Never really ever have a damn about dams, but...
At 15,300 feet in length, and with an average height of 97 feet, Sardis Dam was for many years the largest earth-filled type in the world! The most unique aspect of the dam's construction was the use of "hydraulic fill" techniques.

Ouachita is generally underrated by people from NWA, because there's not much reason to go down there with the lakes around here which are closer.
Same goes for the Ouachita Mountains, too. They're more like "real mountains", although the Ozarks in Northwest Arkansas probably have a higher abundance of cool features, caves and stuff. There is no Ouachitas equivalent of the Buffalo, Kings, Elk, Spring or even Illinois River for floating. The rivers down there kinda suck by comparison.
