Now we're comparing lakes? I have news for everybody - Lane Kiffin doesn't give a shite about your lake.

Funny you couldn't find an actual bad picture of Sardis. Lake Martin pics, however, were not hard to find:

This is the reality. Lane Kiffin isn't some doctor/lawyer who's going to care about driving out to the lake and would choose where to coach over it.

He can hop in a private plane to the Bahamas for a weekend.

I really don't care at all about Sardis Lake or Lake Martin, for that matter. I didn't even look for a picture of whatever lake that is.

That was a throwback to Tillman bragging about Clemson's lake

It's still a fun pissing match.

Very SEC.

Since we’ve gone off topic. Sardis is one of five lakes in Mississippi that are considered the best crappie fishing spots in the country. Also the mountains in your pic are a dead giveaway that ain’t in Mississippi. Do better Leto.

Yeah, but top 10 just sounds better. Just like, "come to the Sip" sounds better than reality.

On that note... no offense but Sardis looks terrible... does anyone have an answer why it's completely undeveloped? Looks like it was just built for flood control surprised they don't add hydro or allow homes to be built on it etc...

Bama and Auburn can fight over who has better lakes but I think Huntsville area is actually king of lakes in Alabama.... Guntersville, the whole TN river + wheeler.... a lot of laking up there...

My personal favorite/sleeper pick may be smith lake though... seems undeveloped but you can have a lake house on it. Is huge. Winds up and through a national forest.

I like the sand beach.

The only way to have clear-water lakes (or rivers) in the South is to be in the mountains and/or hillcountry, preferably with limestone to filter it.

Beaver Lake in NWA:

Lake Travis near Austin:

Those are the best two lakes as far as water-quality, near any SEC town, IMO. Its the limestone and lack of deep topsoil to run-off.

Plus all the cool coves and limestone caves and shite. Another one of Beaver.

I'm supposed to be getting work done and I am discussing water quality of Lakes in SEC states.

Very interesting... are there any in TN? I assume this immediately eliminates any in AL?

I've been thinking about trying to pick up lake property at some point but those are way out of my travel radius.

You chose pictures of Lake Martin when they let the water drop during winter?

Weird.

The two clearest lakes in Arkansas are Bull Shoals and Greers Ferry. They're clearer than Beaver because they are less developed and less-used, but still in that limestone karst topography.

False. Lake Ouachita is more clear than both.

Sardis, Enid, and Grenada are flood control lakes. Ross Barnett is supposed to be but it’s so developed now that they don’t draw it down like they should because residents complain. Throw in lake Washington and if you can’t catch some slabs then you should quit fishing.
