If the SEC left Atlanta to rotate in Biloxi I’d be calling for Sankey to go to jail. There is nothing wrong with the game being in Atlanta every year. It’s the biggest CFB market in America.

People do realize the ACC's wet dream is for the SEC to give up Atlanta, right? The ACC would move their game there in a heartbeat and never move it.

Hell ACC would take a doubleheader as the undercard in Atlanta if they could, either Friday Night/Saturday or 1pm Saturday and 8pm Saturday night just to get out of Charlotte.

It needs to move to Houston to be a true neutral site game. Texas 4$8 will never make it into the championship game.

Screw Houston. Even people from Texas hate going to that place.

There will be no reason for conference championships when the 12 team playoff rolls around anyway… you would want to win the conference but that’s an extra game in an already extended season. Coaches would probably prefer the bye week to rest up for the playoffs instead of playing in an unnecessary CCG, but they print money so probably won’t go anywhere.

Out of all of the takes, this is certainly one of them.

LSU, sans one game, has certainly been content and considered it OK to play national championship games in New Orleans.

The league office being in Birmingham doesn’t have all that much to do with the executive staffing of the office. I guess if you think some local who cleans the terlets is making officiating calls then you’d be justified.

I mean, Alabama has had a lot of success against Georgia in Atlanta. It took going to knee mutilator dome in Indy for them to get off the the bad streak.

You know, we Ole Miss fans have so much to worry about already. It's good that we don't have to worry about where the conference championship game should be played, too.

I just don’t see the SEC playing it’s championship game in a high school stadium.

It would be kinda hilarious though

don't think you need that many locations. Maybe 1 east location and 1 west one with the addition of 2 more western teams to the conference

Dallas and Atlanta seem like perfectly fine rotational candidates

t’s almost as bad as the league office being in Birmingham.

Teams get equal tickets. Atlanta is practically the capital of the south. As far as I’m concerned, the better team wins the game in Atlanta. LSU fans still aren’t over the 2005 SEC championship when UGA whooped them as a massive underdog. Despite the fact LSU has kicked UGA’s arse 3 times in the Atlanta when they had a better team lol

Not true- that title goes to New Orleans.

The issue with Nashville is it’s an open stadium. Weather would likely play a factor at that point in the year. Just doesn’t seem right to allow that for a championship game.

They are building a dome in Nashville to get a Super Bowl, and I’m sure probably Natty games, and it wouldn’t shock me if we got some SECCGs there

Other than fans who'd like to see it near home every now and then, the SEC has no incentive to do so. Atlanta is the biggest economic engine in the conference and nothing is close.

When Texas and Oklahoma get added I think a rotation between Atlanta and Dallas will get more viable.
