This is not the reason for Ashford's issues at all. The kid just doesn't have the accuracy or touch to be anything but a run only QB.

If Ashford had more touch, Hunter would've had a touchdown on that failed wheel route.

I see you’re still crying over Finley

I was never on team Finley. Ever. I've always wanted the best QB to play, we just don't have one.

Not sure why Geriner hasn't played more than a couple snaps.

Nick Marshall wasn't even a QB at UGA

Nick Marshall broke half the high school passing records in Georgia his senior year

Yeah, Nick Marshall was a fantastic HS QB in Georgia. His records got broken by Deshaun Watson.

Run triple option from here on out

That is not as easy as just doing it. Running that style of offense will only be successful if you can block it correctly and have a few blocking backs.

Plus Robbie would have to make good reads

Might have something to do with him looking worse than Ashford and Finley. He's a true freshman and not ready. Throw him into that meat grinder with our line, and you have a chance to ruin him forever.

I agree....doesn't make sense. There were plenty of opportunities.

He is. Whether you, me, or anyone else likes it or not, Ashford is the best QB on the roster currently.

Install that wishbone offense the service academies run with both guys back there plus RA’s wheels and let’s do this thing.

That’s a frightening thing because Ashford sucks. Not only can he not pass, he can’t make a read for shite. We ride or die with Tank and Cowboy.

He keeps a lot of drives alive with his legs. A pocket QB with this Oline, and you’d be begging for Ashford to come back in.

If Robby could just make a wide open throw and gain confidence with that, he could help the team compete.

I’m sure it is harder than anything I’ve ever done, and I wish RA every success as I can see he is laying it all on the line effort wise.

Some of it is ability/experience, but some of it is mental/emotional. He’s the guy, and surely one of the offensive coaches is trying to mentor him regarding calmness, coolness, etc.

Ashford has not had any development work

His frustration and game long helplessness fits show that he has had no coaching for what a complete quarterback needs, nor a coaching staff that has even tried to work through the issues between his ears.

He needs qb coaching. He needs development. Oregon seems to have evaluated this need and left him on their deep bench. When he got here we has the boiseboys - they collectively were already in the middle of quitting or never having the first clue.

He needs a coach to go with him to scan the field pregame and every practice talking through the issues he needs help with and giving him reminders of the things that would help his game. Mix in the psychological calming overall and he could grow into a better qb

Exactly right.

Somehow, every QB that Lane works with looks amazing. That’s coaching. What he did with Blake Sims was unbelievable. Just imagine if he had worked with Jeremy Johnson.

It’s also amazing how much better our O Line blocks now that the Idaho cold wet blanket is gone. Magic.

I’m not sure we’ll have the opportunity against WKU, but I sure would like to get Geriner some snaps before the Iron Bowl in case Robby has to come out for a few plays or were to get hurt.
