Let's see the link where I said we don't need the best coordinators. I said don't expect another Kiffin or Sarkisian. They are the 2 best at Alabama in my lifetime and I thought it was a fluke they were one after the other. But expect it to happen if you want to. Like another poster commented last week, if watching Alabama football made me this upset, I'd just not watch it.

They weren’t back to back. Brian Dabol was OC in 2017. Mike Locksley was OC in 2018.

semi-competent coaching staff. We’re two plays from 4-3.

And one or two plays from 7-0, even as badly as we played at times yesterday. Hopefully we see some changes soon for the better. A man can hope, can't he?

I'm a little surprised we haven't seen more of the new receivers like Aaron Anderson, Kendrick Law, and Shaz Preston by now, thoughts? And did Will Anderson seem off yesterday? He just didn't look like himself to me, maybe Tennessee just had a good scheme or matched up well.

Your premise is not wrong - but the problem is that the UT game is a direct reflection of the weaknesses of this team and the lack of improvement over the season. Looking realistically at the schedule, we SHOULD win each of our remaining games. However, that trip to Oxford scares the shite out of me based on our tendency to play like crap on the road and Lane's ability to scheme and exploit weaknesses in a defense.

I don't think anyone can say honestly that this team has gotten better over the course of the season. Maybe a loss refocuses them and turns things around, but I have my doubts. I would like another shot at the Vols, though, because even though we are not elite I do think we could beat them if we played again.

I know the loss to UT sucks guys.

However, we win out and we face UGA or UT.

Win that and we are in the playoffs.

We will know really quickly what this team is next week.

This could have been a wake up call or the collapse.

Texas should have been the wakeup call, but it wasn't. Aggy should have been the wakeup call, but it wasn't. While what you say is technically true, the fact that this team is getting a record number of penalties in week 7, after having been penalized so often previously, is indicative of the fact that this team is poorly coached in practice on a day to day basis. So why should we be optimistic that will change?

We saw Isiah Bond and Kobe Prentice.

Don't even know how those two and Brooks aren't our starting three. Burton and Holden should be in to block.

well, Sarkisian replaced Kiffin in January 2017 and coached the title game, but then took the job in Atlanta the next month.

You are correct, though, that Dabol was OC in 2017 and Locksley in 2018. They caught hell from a lot of Alabama fans too. Come to think of it, I don't remember the last OC that didn't catch a lot of hell. Kiffin and Sarkisian did too from many Alabama fans.

That was simply TN getting their monies' worth
Who has EVER seen an instant replay of 4th down turnover on downs that didn't involve the play itself?

EVER?

Tell Shaft since he thinks he’s average. 9 can flat out play and if anyone doubts it now, well

If they weren’t on the radar before this game they’re not going to be on it now..

I for one am proud as shite of our guys, they never quit in the game and fought hard. I think the coaches didn’t put them in the best positions but made plays despite it. Let’s keep it together and see where this goes.

Sage advice and sound reasoning! Hell, this ain't our first rodeo, and we've DAMN sure come back from times like this to win it all!
Look at it like this just makes the rest of the games more exciting and meaningful!

I m happy with the result of the game in one sense. If not for how hard the players played(no thanks to the staff) it could have been real ugly.

This team had a chance to win on a FG and than lost on a walk off FG as time was expiring to the current #4 team on the road in a major rivalry game. We could currently be 4-3 if Ewers did not get hurt and Jimbo calls a smart play with time expiring.

All that and we are still in control of our own destiny. Just no margin for error now.

Neither earned their starting spot. It was given to them, not earned.

#17 and #80 earned their playing time.

With exception of the Georgia game, Bama struggled with just about every damn game in 2015 including a home loss to Ole Miss and still won the championship. The defense in 2020 gave up 48 points to Ole Miss and still won it all. It’s not over till it’s over. Tennessee is probably the loudest stadium in the country when they have hope. The good news is this team didn’t quit when they were down 28-10.

Why not try them on defense? They’ve batted down more passes than all our DBs combined

Seems to have been positive from what I’ve gathered. The defense was embarrassed, I mean literally they watched filmed and were in awe how bad it was and couldn’t believe it was so bad on assignments. Sometimes a look in the mirror, and the DC isn’t absolved from this, is the best way to become a better anything, person, player, teammate etc. That’s what I’ve heard, it was a deep wtf did we do moment. Offense should be happy as shite minus some bonehead plays and drops.

our coaching is so bad that the offense is ranked in the top 5 in the nation, #4 before the Milroe game, was 2nd in the SEC last season, and scored 49 pts yesterday, which should be enough to win any game

You actually think the offense scored 49 points?
