So far Esman and Torrance look shaky

Pathetic Murphy has to turn to Fouts to try and bail him out against Lehigh. Lol

Like the way the freshman and young players look but looks like it is going to be an interesting year

Murph still living on that title from 10+ years ago. It’s gonna be another disappointing year.

Wish Byrne would give him an ultimatum. Adapt to the times or you're gone!
People troll that Saban wasted BY with having BoB as the OC, but man, Murph has really wasted Fouts.

And ran off multiple All Conference Players in the last 3 yrs.

I was wondering who the number 2 pitcher would be going into SEC play. So far we have no one. Through two and a half innings of game two it is 0-0 and we only have one hit. Seems like the same SOS with a Murphy team and shitty hitting. Only got 4 runs vs Lehigh.

The freshman did look good.
We looking a little iffy right now though I must say.
Not gone panic just yet.

3-2 Bama top of 5. I sure thoughts Fouts would get a day off and play tomorrow.

Bama wins. 8-2 or something like that with two underclassman accounting for 7 of the runs. Fouts threw over 100 pitches in game 2 and pitched the seventh inning of game one. She may have taken the L on game one.

Murph not doing anything to give Fouts any support on the pitching staff after Lexi left is criminal. He's going to run her into the ground.

Be patient. I hope that doesn't happen tho. Let me see Salter tomorrow.

Same story different season. Murph rides Fouts to a win. It isn't going to last all season. Montana will eventually wear down. And then we'll fade in the postseason.

I went back and watched the first game and I must say Esman pitched better than I thought. Lehigh never really hit her hard and we had a couple of plays I felt like Bailey Dowling would of got to some of those ground balls at shortstop if she was in.
Torrance gave up a big home run but other than that she kind a bounce back a little.
Overall I felt like Patrick Murphy could of rode Esman a little longer actually because she was good and like I said earlier they didn't hit her hard. Esman just has to get comfortable being a starting pitcher now that's all.
I think she has good potential honestly.

Esman gave up like 7 hits to Lehigh . Sat at 59-60 on most pitches . Hope I am wrong but I didn’t see much. She didn’t miss many bats

There's a reason she only pitched 2 innings in her 3 years at Michigan.

Like I said....She has to get use to pitching now.
Lehigh didn't hit her hard so there's a big difference. Three of those seven hits probably should of been put outs.
Esman pitched good and they never barreled her up like Lehigh did Torrance & Fouts.
Doesn't matter how hard you throw...what matters is how effective are you throwing it.

Our freshman will be dangerous this season.
Kristen White
Larissa Preuitt
Marlie Giles
Abby Duchscherer
Kenleigh Cahalan
I was impressed with them for sure.

Typically I am not a big proponent of making coaching changes in non-revenue sports as long as the program is competitive, but at this point it kinda feels like the softball program has been on a downward trajectory for a while now. He loses the All American pitcher he has worked like a rented mule after this season, so what's he going to do when he can't win games 2-1 next year? Launch angle analytics apply to softball just like they do baseball, and if Murphy doesn't believe there is any merit to it then it is pointless to keep him. He has had a great run and built the program almost from scratch, but you either change or you get left behind.
