And his continued reliance on hoping for a dominant pitching performance and trying that slap and dash crap to scratch out a couple of runs to win is not a winning formula anymore if it ever was.
I agree to a certain degree but you very obviously have not looked at our freshman and transfer class.

They look promising. But last year's freshman looked even more promising. And then the best 3 transferred. Because we have no one on staff that can develop our hitters.

Do they? We just brought in the #1 recruit in the nation in addition to a slew of instant impact transfers

I'll have a story coming soon, but this team seems super locked in and focused. Montana and Ally never came out and said it, but they definitely implied that the attitude on this team is much better than lasts, and they're all on the same page despite ranging in ages from 17 to 23.
They love the new pitching coach, Lance McMahon, and Murph likes what he's done with all four pitchers. He thinks the Michigan transfer Lauren Esman could make a big impact for the Tide.
The goal for Montana and Ally (and the whole team obviously) but especially since it's their last year is clear, and they're not being shy about it. It's OKC or bust. Montana went her freshman year in 2019, no WCWS in 2020 because of COVID, went back in 2021 and had her perfect game against UCLA and then obviously last year they didn't even advance to Super Regionals for the first time ever.

Inside Alabama Softball's Busy Offseason (SI)
For the first time in program history, Alabama did not make the Super Regionals which led to a busy offseason with transfer portal additions and subtractions, a coaching change, weight room records and a team ready to get back to OKC.

I'm glad they got us ranked FOURTH in the SEC. We will be better than that ranking when it's all said and done!

we have a solid number 1 pitcher but not sure who is capable behind her to win against the better teams. Murphy's teams have always under performed at hitting when you compared them to OK and UCLA.

No new hitting coach?
Hard to get excited.

and your opinion is based on what? Whose is the number 2 pitcher who gives Fouts a rest during SEC play. Who will be the hitters who can deliver in clutch time consistently cuz last year in the later part of the season we had few. We also saw high beam and individual batting averages before SEC play and they dropped for most significantly when SEC play started. Some were over a 100 points. Hitting coach is not new so what makes you think Murph is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat. I hope you are right but my cup of coffee this morning is half emplty right now
