Sanders hasn't proven he can coach. My guess his talent level is higher than most of the other FCS teams he plays What is his record against them ?

And dumbass, Harsin was hired by Greene alone, so Keep up or STFU. Lolololol

8 million dollars a year has a way of making a coach forget about what happened with the other fella (plus a 40 million buyout).

Gus took close to 70 million from The Barn in his days as a OC and HC.

They'll be limited to that. Coaches who just want a pay check, not coaches who are looking to advance their career.

Same thing happened to Miss St recently after they fired a coach in less than 2 years. But then they went and got the best coaching for a paycheck only guy in Leech. I doubt Auburn gets so lucky.

Hell YES!
And damned if those back to back losses to the Right Reverend didn't derail the Bama football program.

It was a huge disappointment to finish '14 at 12-2, win the SEC, got to the CFP and lose to OSU. Then that beat down in '15 absolutely crushed Bama as they won the SEC again, went to the CFP and brought home another NC trophy.

Typical Auburn. Wash your hands of your decisions. Throw someone under the bus.

Attractive place to get a job.

Since 2020 he has lost to AL St, Southern, AL A&M, LA Monroe, and SC St. His wins are against similar competition.

Greene was hired by Leath. The President was run out of town on a rail. Most of Auburn was shocked by his hire.

He wants a cushy easy job to walk into so that he can't fail. He wants what Kirby walked into, where he can't do worse without trying hard, but can do better and be a hero.

*thats not a shot at kirby.

If Kirby went to Texas, would he be at the top like he is at UGA?

He probably has his sights set of GT.
I think so too. And I think he'd absolutely kill it at Tech considering the recruits he'd pull in.

I don't see Tech going that route though. Prime Time doesn't give off the image Tech wants.

How would you know? You must be an expert.

If Kirby went to Texas in 2016 instead of UGA... I think yes.

His ability to recruit is off the charts and Texas is one of the few places where he might be able to recruit better than at UGA. He's always put together great defenses and would have done that at Texas too. I think he'd probably still only have 1 championship but would probably have more playoff appearances due to the Big 12 being weaker.

GT has issues with the administration providing enough financial support for football (for things like facilities and recruiting budgets) and also has higher standards than most schools so has a lesser pool of players to recruit from (like Stanford and ND deal with).

The other issue is GT has an undersized team built for the option. Quite frankly any coach coming in running a normal offense is going to have a painful transition that won't look good to recruits.
