Not really. Those guys kinda sucked.

You can live with INTs if your QB is making plays and pushing the ball down field. I don’t know the context of those INTs to say either way, though.

I was one of the few voices of reason when Nick Marshall was being recruited with 20+ INTs. But you had to go look at the games. His JUCO defense was allowing 50-60 points most weeks.

So it all depends. As we tend to do with new coaches, your concern probably aligns with how you felt about the hire

Is Ole Miss going to be to Hugh what Arkansas was to Gus?

I would not try to make so much out of this. It is just Lane being Lane and it was pretty funny.

Lets not hate Lane just because he decided to stay put.

It is literally Freezes entire body of work at the FBS level - a decade. If those guys sucked then why are a lot of people excited for QB play if Freeze hasn’t shown any improvement at the QB position in a decade? His offenses have gained a lot of yards but have been one of the worst in turning the ball over. I think most people agree the more turnovers you have the less likely you are to win.

I mean, Bo Wallace is the context for most of them . He had 22 his first year. Dude never saw a double coverage he didn't like.

These Stats are also just wrong. Liberty starters average 8.5 interceptions per year with 21.75 TD's/year. Even if you factor in every backup QB you don't get to 12.6 per year at Liberty.

How much of this was assisted by his Carolina contract?

His buyout with Carolina was around $40mil. Not taking a job he would get around $10/mil per year, but is offset with whatever is current job is. Nebraska back loaded the contract.

His income will look like this:

2023 - 5.5m Neb / 4.5m Panthers - 10m
2024 - 6.5m Neb / 3.5m Panthers - 10m
2025 - 7.5m Neb / 2.5m Panthers - 10m
2026 - 8.5m Neb / 1.5m Panthers - 10m
2027 - 10m Neb (give the biggest bump after Panthers stop paying)
2028 - 11.5m Neb
2029 - 12m Neb
2030 - 12.5 Neb

Why couldn't Nebraska just pay him a dollar and let the Panthers cover the rest?

I guess so, but his Nebraska contract would be smaller and the buyout at Nebraska would be a lot less. That's the only reason I can think of.

8 INT’s in 2019
7 in 2020
15 in 2021
15 in2022

11.25 INTs a year. My bad on the math. Added a TD column instead of INT’s
