I like Harsin and think he's about as close as you can get to an old school football coach these days, and I say that endearlingly.

Unfortunately, the game/system has changed dramatically and due to that and a number of factors, I do not think he will be successful at all at Auburn.

Exactly

Harsin as a person is great. Malzahn was great as a person in his own way. Can’t just make excuses for performance though. The losing Bo excuse is out the window if we trot out TF as QB1 again and that could happen.

Successful is a different critter for different people. I'm happy that the team seems bought in. I'm happy to not have a bunch of last minute we-gotta-have 3 stars. So I'm happy that recruiting will depend on wins or losses. And I attribute that to the single minded voice of having just one HC. I'm still hopeful that he stuns not just the football world but the good people on the Planes.

As for PF I don't put it past him to go for higher ground to later swing from. To look for a place to say. "I was once fooled".

Pretty much where I'm at as well. He'd have been an awesome hire back in 2017. I don't know if his style will work the way CFB has changed so dramatically in the past 15 months or so.

in many ways he is very new wave...

I just hope he learns critical time management and other basics of coaching every inch of the games Auburn is in..

..and practices them in games like he wants to rip the throats out of opposing coaches.

THEN..
