More red flags flying around College Station than Chinese New Year in Beijing.

Probably yes. The former SA Minister of Energy and Aramco CEO is an Aggie.

Interesting article. It doesn't really matter though.
A&M leads the nation and likely the world in oil and gas research and development. It shouldn't come as any real surprise if A&M receives funding some from some wealthy oil-rich countries. And if we don't have to disclose it, then why would we disclose it.

Nowadays - in all areas of society - media focuses the appearance of wrongdoing and generating angry responses/clicks
Then the clarifications and corrections, etc. just sort of get minor coverage.
Is there anything actually wrong with having a satellite campus in Qatar?

They may be one of the largest R&D programs in academia, but the heavly lifting is still done by the bigger guys, Chevron, Shell, Exxon, etc.

You do have to and you didn't. Why?

Yet, for some reason, your shitty university had to combine its School of Engineering and tech with the School of Liberal Arts, thus devaluing every single diploma that will be earned.

Except the article mentioned cyber security.
Russia hacking in the US, Russia funding cyber security in the a&m system, a&m refusing to disclose it.

I’m confused. Feels like a moving target.
You think A&M is in cahoots with Russian hacking/cyber spies?
I guess I’ll wait for the real story when the spies are indicted.

According to the Education Department’s College Foreign Gift Reporting database, Texas A&M has never received any funding from Russian entities.
From March

Texas A&M University Chancellor John Sharp on Wednesday moved to sever all ties with Russia,

System leaders said there are fewer than 10 research agreements across the system
Is this what they are failing to disclose because in the WSJ article said no money from Russia?

I used to travel in the Middle East pretty frequently for work. The strategic and diplomatic ties between Qatar and the United States are deep and go back many, many years.
A&M is one of many schools that have some degree of partnership with Qatari institutions. Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, Cornell, Northwestern, and others have decades old ties to the country.
Also....the entire US Military central command operates out of Doha as well as a lot of our regional intelligence operations.
It is a little amusing that the average poster on this board see Arab guys in white robes and immediately assume Al Quaeda and threats to 'MERICA!!!!!

You mean you don't know?
I mean, you've pledged your allegiance to the college. You, presumably, went there and graduated from there. You'd think that you would be aware of such developments.
