Auburn will bring back what Bruce Pearl wants to bring back.
I would expect KD Johnson, Wendell Green, Zep Jasper, Dylan Cardwell and Jaylin Williams all back for sure.
Devin Cambridge and Allen Flanigan are up in the air, but likely gone, joining Chris Moore. Allen Flanigan likely leaves through mutual parting and his dad takes a head coaching job.
Walker Kessler and Jabari Smith are likely gone. I say likely because I included WK in that. JS is definitely gone.
We add Tre Donaldson, Chance Westry, another big (former LSU commit) and whoever else Bruce Pearl wants.
Trust in that man.
ETA: Love the kid, but Zep Jasper may not even be back even though he said he would a few months ago.
ETA2: The above is what I’ve gathered from BruceBall.

Couple things. I still think there is a high likelihood Kessler comes back. His offensive game is trash. It’s either us or a GLeague.
Secondly, Devin Cambridge, and the Flanigans leaving sounds a lot like the Tevin Brown rumor: wishful thinking.

I read Tre Donaldson’s reviews and he doesn’t seem to have much upside asides from his defense. I am really curious why Bruce recruited him

Smith and Kessler will both be gone and in the NBA. Kessler has been getting first round grades for months now. Nothing has changed there.
I'm not sure Wes is even up for any jobs. If he is they are probably mid-majors or down a division. I doubt Allen would leave to go to a smaller school so I think he returns. I also think Cambridge returns because I'm not sure where he would go. Plus he will be a senior. If he goes he probably goes down a level just to be a full time 30 minute a night starter.
Stretch and C-Mo unless they get some assurances of more playing time I think they are both gone in the transfer portal.
JayWill will be back. Nothing is in front of him.
Westry and Donaldson are both guys you expect to stick around for multiple years. Not 1 and done type players. I could see Donaldson rotating at the 2 more next year until Zep is gone and then moving to the 1. Neither are shooters both are dribble drive type players. So Westry will be a 2/3 type player his first year and 3 the following years.
So going into next year we need a backup 4, a potential starter at the 5 and a dead eye shooter either at the 2 or the 3.
And for those that keep saying Kessler should come back I would remind all of you of Chris Porter. Had a first round grade. Would have been taken between 13-20 of the first round had he come out. He decided to come back and work on his game to try to develop a jumper and dropped completely out of the draft. And how is Bruce going to develop Kessler. Wiley was Bruce's first real big man, Kessler his second.

Still don’t think AF would leave for there.

I just don’t think he has the game for the NBA.

Wiley could have gone anywhere in the country and would still be in the same position he is now. He was a weird athlete. Glad we had him, won a lot of games, but wasn’t a threat to go pro. I kinda feel the same on Kessler but having one elite skill can sometimes work out. Not sure how the rim protection will translate. Some of the better players in our league went right at him with varying degrees of success

He was one of the best players at a big tourney in ATL IIRC and all reports are that he was Bruce’s top PG this class. He’ll never take a significant snap in football so Bruce really wanted him.
ETA: Bruce has an incredible eye for PGs so that’s the position I would trust him on the most.

There ain't no developing Cardwell. He is what he is. Nothing wrong with coming off the bench giving some fouls, getting some rebounds, and a couple dunks

He can get a little more finesse in the post and add value there when there is a big mismatch.
He's a great role player to have similar to Horace Spencer

Cambridge is what he will always be, he’s regressed if anything. Jaylin needs to understand that next year is his team and become a vocal leader. He’s got a ton of talent just plays too timid. There’s going to be a ton of turnover, Allen needs to be one as well. Should be a very interesting few weeks.

I would say ideal targets would be John Trarore and Julian Phillips. I would say they are definite takes if we can get them. My cousin jolivesr on the Bunker told me there is some chatter. But Trarore needs to get out of a NIL deal with LSU though.
Another option is Johni Broome(spelling?). He plays for Morehead St and was the second leading blocker in nation behind Walker Kessler. Hopefully we can maintain the presence in the paint.
Would love for Tevin Brown to come back home to the state. His play is a definite fit for Bruce's system and could open opportunities for our other 3 point shooters. He has decent size for a 2, which is something we don't have. His veteran presence will improve our guard play into being a strength instead of a weakness.
What I would love to see
C-Broome, Cardwell
PF- Trarore, Jaylin
SF- Flanny(If he stays and 100% healthy), Westry and Phillips
SG- T. Brown, KD
PG- Zep, Wendell, Tre
That would drop Bari and WK for going pro, Preston Cook for graduation, and the transfers would be Cambridge, Stretch, CMO. If a unicorn PG comes out in the portal with Sharrif(Spelling?) Cooper kind of IQ, then we could let Zepp go but those are tough to find.

We need a spot up shooter at the 2. A Bryce Brown, Scotty Pohlman type catch and shoot guy with great shooting mechanics. I think of what we could have done with a Grady (UK) or a Vescovi (UT) type guy with our slasher guards this year. Keep us out of those laborious scoring slumps we had.

I made the comment about Noah Igbo that someone still has as their sig quote, that he was crazy to come out. Well, he got drafted in the 1st round but has, unsurprisingly, been a complete bust.
Same would go for Kessler. He may leave and someone might take him late 1st round but he can't play in the NBA right now.
I don't know if coming back to Auburn would help him develop an offensive game or not but he's not ready to go pro. His family also doesn't need the money, I wouldn't be shocked if he came back.

the 6'10 yohan kid decommitted from lsu. not sure why a lot of Auburn fans are expecting him to come here after we didnt make his top ten the first time around. Still seeing AU media and fans talk about him tho

TBH, I thought Cardwell really improved in his play this year, expecially down the stretch. I was really impressed how he played in the UM game.
He does a very good job working to get a rebound, he's got soft hands on the dunks and receiving the ball into him. Plays good D in the post.
If they decide to work with him on his offense around the basket, he has some inside quickness and power.
I did think it was funny, that no matter if he got the ball inside, if he could not dunk it, he either was unsure of his ability to make a move to the basket to score. He always would get the rebound and as quick as he could push it back out to the perimeter.

I wasn't knocking him to be clear. Just saying he isn't going to develop a mid-range game or anything outside the post. I could see him averaging 6ppg if his minutes increase but I definitely wouldn't want him starting.
We need a scoring presence at the 3 spot in the worst kind of way

Here is a bit of good news for your Tuesday afternoon, from Caleb Benson, a college recruiting analyst:

2022’ 5 star 6’10 C Yohan Traore
@CB1_TheFiend-Auburn
@sorkness_troy-Auburn

Both decommited from LSU this week following the firing of Will Wade, Traore is looked at as a lock.
