Can't wait for that ONE unexpected 1 seed losing to the 16 seed. AU won't be playing in their tiny arena.

That's wishful thinking and no better than an Irons Puppet post

That AU team has elite 8/final 4 written all over it. Jabari Smith is the truth, and then throw in Kessler and those guards. They are as legit as it gets.

Yea, they will overwhelm the majority of mid-majors they face. They are a team that feels upset proof until the 2nd weekend unless they absolutely collapse and have a horrid shooting night.

Never said they weren't. But all teams are beatable. Just depends on the "when".

If history tells us anything, its going to be awhile before we get another 16 over 1

We're as solid across the board as I've ever seen an Auburn team. I've also seen an Auburn team with elite guards get hot as fire at the right time and make a huge run. Anything can happen in these tournaments.

AU isn't that great a shooting team. Most of their shots are from inside the paint and with dunks. Smith can knock down the intermediate jumper and they shoot the three at about a 25% range. The difference with AU is Bruce is not afraid to take bad shots and his guards can penetrate to create easy shots. Missouri is the only team that slowed that down with Smith only hiting two shots.

Yep. Part of what makes CBB so great. Having such a great front court is huge though. In order for the teams y'all will likely face in the first weekend to have any sort of shot they would need to get both Kessler and Jabari in foul trouble. Really tough to do.

Auburn had had a few games where they were rough offensively and had long stretches of bad offense. South Florida, Loyola Chicago, Saint Louis, LSU, Missouri. If they have a night like that in the Round of 32 they could lose. But it would probably also have to coincide with Kessler getting foul trouble.

Either way, Auburn's well rounded enough that they don't present a lot of "bad matchup" opponents, which makes them very upset proof comparatively.

I understand KenPom, but I also know that Analytics doesn't have eyes.

ou probably saw us losing to Baylor, Gonzaga and Houston as well. How'd that work out for ya?

It worked out fine because I'm a Bama fan. I was pleasantly surprised at Gonzaga, figured they'd win against Houston and not all surprised with Baylor. If you reread my post you'll notice that I said wouldn't be surprised to see Alabama win against UK and Arkansas but lose to Ole Miss and or A&M. That would actually be consistent with the way they've played all season.

Oh yeah, Mizzou definitely almost got us. There must be something about that arena that makes other teams play just awful.

I see 5 losses, possibly 7. NIT bound. Hopefully they aren't paired up against Norfolk State again in the 1st Round.

Bama will be in with 8-10 conference record. I think they finish 10-8 in SEC and get a 7 seed or so
