Is it because we teach real literature, real writing, as opposed to cranking out robots who go to work for corporate media douchebags?

God bless those Missouri kids. Keep on coming down to your real home.

OM OOS tution is close to the same as IST for a lot of kids. That is why we have such a huge population from St. Louis, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, etc. It has some good and some bad that comes along with it. IYKYK

Its the catholic kids in stl who don't want to attend a catholic university. Its bizarre, really. But Ole miss isnt too far from STL.

Ole miss is one of the closest p5 schools to STL really.

Illinois 179
Iowa 260
UK 337
Arkansas 361
Ole miss 368

Ole Miss probably has the 2nd highest amount of Missouri kids, Arkansas being first.

Well, Mizzou probably has Mississippi beat on Literature (as far as authors born in both states).

Not sure why you call out Mizzou on Literature.

Since when do we teach real literature at Ole Miss? Who was the last notable author who is an alum or who was faculty? Was it Barry Hannah ten years ago?

shite, Mizzou's J-school is one of the best in the country.

This is strange.

FYI, the kids in stl who go to Ole miss, aren't the type of kids you want. They're the kind who pull "do you know who my dad is", meanwhile they're dad works a very average job and had to get tuition assistance in HS. Image is everything type.

Snobby STL private HS kids that want to say they go to college out of state. Image is everything.

Plus, it's an easy drive.

I don't know about MS vs MO literature or journalism, but I know this kid from O'Fallon is pretty good.

Arkansas enrolled 1676 Missouri kids Fall 2021, or 5.7% of the student body.

Texas sends the largest number of OOS students to University of Arkansas, 7,142 in Fall of 2021. Texas kids are 24.5% of the student body in Fayetteville.

The only beautiful women I've seen from Missouri have all been from KC. Not sure what they're up to in that town, but the rest of that state needs to take notes.

Contrary to this board's ridiculous belief that Missouri is some foreign land up near Canada, Missouri is actually just a two and a half hour drive from Oxford. For a lot of kids in southeastern Missouri, Ole Miss is quite a bit closer to home than Mizzou.
