To make their families seem rich

All the STL kids I knew at Ole Miss are some of the wealthiest people in your state. One kid’s family owned Schlafly Beer and another owned the largest oil company in the Midwest and another was family friends with Jim Crane and another was a member of the Busch family.

Wealthy kids from STL typically don't go to public universities, and if they do, Its going to be Mizzou or Illinois.

This is not to say one or 2 of the tons of wealthy kids in STL dont go to Ole miss, or heck public schools in general.

They are looking for a mid-tier football program which is a step up from the bottom-tier football at Missouri.

Man you're really missing out. I went to school at Moberly Area Community college with a guy that drank Schlafly beer....actually no. That shite was too expensive. We drank Natty. I also went to school with a guy who was friends with Jim. Not Crane. Can't remember his last name, but he was a cool dude.

This is what I figured. Of all the kids that leave Missouri, I'd have guessed ark #1 and Ole miss close to or at #2

Just like State, Ole Miss has the easiest entrance requirements to get into school there. Back when I went to State I assumed all you needed was a 17 and decent HS GPA.

I graduated in 09, and back when it was time to pick schools, it was a running joke that you went to Ole miss because it was the easiest. I dont think that was true, as far as it being the actual reason.

Contrary to this board's ridiculous belief that Missouri is some foreign land up near Canada, Missouri is actually just a two and a half hour drive from Oxford. For a lot of kids in southeastern Missouri, Ole Miss is quite a bit closer to home than Mizzou.

I dunno what you are even trying to say but we had 5 of the wealthiest people from your state in my pledge class alone.

You think the son of the dude that owns Schlafly is one of the “wealthiest people in our state”?

Yes I’d say they are wealthier than 99.99% of the people in your state including you.

I think the overriding message that needs to be conveyed is that we DGAF about your pledge bros. and Jim Crane, Jim Crowe or Jimmy Carter. Now, Jim Beam on the other hand?

So they had to lower the bar for kids from Mississippi to be able to attend?

Checks out.
