But seriously I am skeptical of these services because they have so little visibility. I’ve almost only ever heard about them as a retort to exactly what I just said. Makes me skeptical that the state is actually aggressive about addressing the potential blind spot for access.
If someone lacks the intelligence to obtain this information on their own then they certainly shouldn't be allowed to influence an election.
How would they even pick a candidate to vote for if they can't perform a simple task such as this?

I don’t think the concept of voter identification is onerous. The problem is with ease of access to acquiring the valid identification that is the driving issue. Everyone is dancing around that point but then again everyone will just dance around ease of access too now that I’ve painted them into a new rhetorical corner
There’s no difficulty of access. This is utter bullshite. Besides, you SHOULD have to get off your arse and either drive to the courthouse or go online and prove who you are in order to choose who you want as the leader of the free world .

Absolutely. F him for doing this. No gd need to give illegals the right to vote. That's all this is about. I doubt he even realizes that, but that's even MORE reason he shouldn't stick his fking nose in it.

They have the time to sign-up for every other program the corrupt government offers.

the real problem with "voting rights" is places closing DMVs in poor, mostly minority areas to cut costs, those people (who generally don't get much time off and may not have reliable transportation) now have to go a long way to get their ID, therefore not having something they can use to vote. I don't think there is a law anywhere in this country specifically made to try to limit voting access for certain groups of people, but there are government actions that do affect certain groups more than others.
This entire statement is unadulterated bullshite. And the way you know it is, is because Democrats didn't hesitate a second to demand a photo ID vax card. This whole thing is just another mechanism to make it easier for Democrats to farm votes and steal elections.

"Steal elections" how?

That's how this country works. Whoever loses the election claims fraud, theft and whatever other pathetic cop-out.

By turning in votes for people that didn't vote? Ballot harvesting also needs to be done away with. Just because some states made it legal because of Covid (wink, wink), doesn't make it legal and right.

Without looking, can anyone tell me what's actually in the bill?
quote:
make election day a national holiday, aimed at making easier for all voters to get to the polls that day
No issue really there
quote:
Would require states to have early voting for at least two weeks prior to election day, including nights and weekends
Who is paying for the man power to oversee this?
quote:
allow voting by mail with no excuses needed, and voters could put their ballots in drop boxes
This is a major concern
quote:
require that states make voting more accessible for people with disabilities
Here they provide transportation to and from the polls.
quote:
require that states that require IDs for voting would have to broaden the types of identification acceptable.
This saying they will not override states requiring ID but more forms of ID excepted. Which I assume needs to be a photo ID.
quote:
States would also have to offer same-day voting registration and online registration and also make it easier to register at places like departments of motor vehicles.
Not sure why if you are allowing state to have early voting. But in NC when you register with DMV for any type of ID you register to vote as well.
quote:
It also limits removing voters from voter rolls.
I do have an issue with this as I have seen many validated reports of people voting who have already died.
quote:
The bill declares that the right of a U.S. citizen to vote in any election for federal office shall not be denied or abridged because that individual has been convicted of a criminal offense unless, at the time of the election, such individual is serving a felony sentence.
Do not agree here but whatever
quote:
the bill sets forth provisions related to election security, including by requiring states to conduct post-election audits for federal elections.
This would become a requirement not based on request of a candidate. So a good option I feel
quote:
It would also impose new rules on how campaigns are paid for by limiting the use of so-called dark money by political action committees. Any group that spends more than $10,000 to influence an election would be required to disclose all donors.
The one thing I agree needs to happen, especially with a super pac.
quote:
The bill also includes safeguards to ensure fair resolution of discrepancies between a voter’s signature on a mail ballot and their signature on file with election authorities.
quote:
Any mail ballot postmarked on Election Day that arrives within seven days would need to be counted
If you are going to force states to open the polls up two weeks early I see no reason to mail on election day which by the way contradicts making a National holiday for voting because the post office would not be open and you would not be able to have it post marked.
quote:
Automatic voter registration: The bill would make automatic voter registration (AVR), which 19 states and the District of Columbia have already adopted, the national standard.
Seems simple. Go to DMV get ID and be registered to vote. No need for same day and everything is covered.

Is there a reason why no one in support of Saban or the Democrats bill has laid out anything resembling a cogent argument of how voter rights are being infringed upon?
I’ll hang up and listen.

They can't give one example of someone not being able to vote because of the rules.
Just makes it easier to cheat.
Just makes it easier to cheat.

Don't really care either way. More power to Saban for supporting his beliefs and not giving a damn about the backlash from the fans.

Normally I would agree, however, this is a very divisive issue in which some have gone so far as to ignorantly call it Jim Crow 2.0. Our country needs to be brought together, and those with the loudest voices carry an unfortunate burden of needing to tread more lightly. If there were legitimate claims of voter issues then Sabans stance should be praised - there just isn’t anything to support it. The same should be said of any celebrity claiming massive voter fraud or stolen elections.
