I figured there was a 'style' associated with them, simply because so many of these memes appear in this manner. Never heard of that before.
Apparently, I don't know my memes as well as I had thought.
On November 21st, 2016, Urban Dictionary user memegod420 uploaded a definition to the site,[5] writing, "When a high quality meme is screen shot, reposted and re-filtered so many times over that it has a yellowish, low quality resolution and looks like it was deep fried."
