Gonna ask a dumb quesiton here, but what's with the overexposed, sorta blurry look to so many of these memes? Is that itself a thing? What, if any, is the story?

They are called “Deep Fried Memes”. Which was popular like 5 years ago, I have no idea why. I have no idea how the Auburn “Meme Mob” decided to use them, but I like them.

I figured there was a 'style' associated with them, simply because so many of these memes appear in this manner. Never heard of that before.
Apparently, I don't know my memes as well as I had thought.
