Durkin was a hot name in our last DC search. Now not so much. He’s still a good coordinator. But I would rather promote. I thought that was jimbo’s plan but I guess not.

Either way I think the DC hire would have to be an abysmal failure not to have success with the talent we have on the defensive side of the ball.

We can do “Co” still and do both.

Putting the death aside, I still can't see how anyone can justify the following stats;

#100 on Total defense
#101 in Rushing defense
#95 in Passing defense

Anyone care to spin this?

It seems strange that durkin would leave ole miss for a co dc position even if it was a huge pay raise

The right hire can take our defense from good to dominant with the talent we have and will have on campus. The type of defense that could be leaned on and contend for a title even with a less explosive offense similar to UGA. That’s the type of talent we’re putting together and should be the goal.

According to cfbstats as Florida’s DC in ‘13 and ‘14 def ranked #15 both years. At Michigan in ‘15 they were #4. So maybe the lower rankings this year is due to talent and a quick hit offense that keeps the defense on the field.

Kiffin floated his name for basically every single opening this cycle. It’s a matter of time before he jumps and Durkin will need a new job. And in the meantime, he has to keep fielding defenses with Ole Miss talent on the D-line. Which won’t exactly pad his resume, as this year showed. Honestly, we may not even need to give him a raise.

Do we know that it’s for sure a Co-DC position?

Or maybe he just lucked into established defenses?

Putting Durkin's or Kelly's name with Paterno or Briles is fricking retarded.

No, they didn't. They settled out of court for 3.5 million. That's very different from losing the suit. Companies settle a lot when they're in the right by the law by on the wrong end of the pr. And 3.5 million is pretty damn low for such a settlement.

Yeah most potential DC hires have wayyyyyy bigger wrongful death suits on their record, so we should actually be praised for considering Durkin

Retarded is defending a guy who got a kid killed.

DJ Durkin built the program from top to bottom. Anyone who died did so under his watch.

No, you're right. Totally a minor detail that we should overlook. Parents of recruits are going to be thrilled putting their kid's life on the hands of this chode.

That's hyperbole. It's akin to saying the fault of the pandemic is the unvaccinated.

You know who has something in common with Paterno and Briles???

So let's just go ahead and get all the rape enablers and killer coaches in here. We want a championship!!!

Remember, every single one was cleared by their school and was never sent to jail!
