We also didn't have a great blocking back like the Hammer #35 Porsche.
Absolutely right Rocky. Prosche took a couple of games to get into it, but he was a huge piece to our running game. Especially outside the tackles.

He really was a beast. Seems like he'll have a long arse NFL career too as long as he stays healthy.

Nick Marshall was a fake punt away from getting a ring as starting qb.

Possibly. But if Cody Parkey kicks into the endzone like he did ALL YEAR, we would have won.

Oline was weak last year on pass blocking. JJ would have been chopped and stacked into cord wood.

Ya but I believe we would have beat TAMU and Wisconsin if our D didn't shite the bed.

I think NM was best option last year but I don't believe the regression on O would have offset the improvement on our dumpster fire D

The other side to this coin is it wouldn't have mattered who was at DB. The dline couldn't get a pass rush and neither Frost nor Cass can blitz work a damn. The DB's were hung out to dry last season.

Or if we make a tackle on that long run on the last drive.

There's so many simple things we could've done that would've won us that game. That's the worst part about that game.

Why are we talking about this?

True, but I don't think Gus would put JJ in those same situations.

Agree. It will look different. Which worries me.

And sometimes situations just happen. QB will not always be in a comfy pocket. He will have to scramble and improvise. This is the part of JJ's game I am interested in seeing. And i am sure I am not alone

I do like the fact that we will have another calm QB. But one that can hit the open receivers most of the time. That was missed with Nick.

Im excited but nervous as well. Cant wait of things to get started.

This as I said earlier was the biggest issue in our losses last season.

I completely agree. If JJ proves that he can tuck it and get up field on a busted play he will force the linebackers to be honest.

Nick

''He's a baller,'' Colvin said. ''You really don't have to tell him too much. He's just a football player. I don't want to tell him too much because once he starts thinking, that will start holding him back.''
