This is how Gus Malzahns offense looks with the right QB

I'm watching it. Lots of FGs.

It's Deshaun Watson. We shouldn't act like these types are readily available. Any P5 team with him could flirt with the playoffs.

Watson isn't a Cam-level QB, but he is a Marshall-level QB.
He chose not to play for Gus.
So not only does Gus need at the very least a Marshall-level Grand Wizard to succeed, only about one of those show up every year and every school in the country wants him.
We fricked.

We are trying to decide which team has the best chance of beating bama.

Watson with an idiotic throw

Agree. Watson is not the passer Marshall was. He can run well though
And I think OU has a chance to beat Bama if they open it up
Clemson has no chance

With the right qb Gus's offense takes a shite on this Clemson offense.

Clemson has a good defense. That secondary is pretty good.
They will beat us by 50 next year

If we had either OK or Clemmons qbs we are a 10 win team

If we have a qb that can play, we keep it close and may even win.

Agree. Good QB play is infectious. Would love to have Baker Mayfield
Kid is a baller

Clemson is going to whip us at the lines of scrimmage.

I am watching.
It burns me to say it, but Alabama would run all day on Oklahoma and break their qb.

Watson looks like Nick Marshall with Cams arm. How did we not wind up with this kid?

Actually, I was going to make this thread during the Houston-FSU game.
Houston looked very similar schematically and philosophically. Did not need all-world performance from their QB, just "good". They ran the ball with reads and mild misdirection (but still a power component) a lot and passed when running wasn't working, just like Gus does (or used to do).
The main differences were:
1. The QB made good decisions with the ball
2. The runs were blocked much better to set them up; if they didnt get TFL, they got at least 3-5 yards with a chance to spring for a long run (just like us circa 2013)
3. WRs made plays on the ball when it mattered
4. Kept up tempo to keep FSU off-balance.
Honestly, it was setup to be a redux of the BCSNCG with FSU, except it was Houston instead of us and a Winston-less FSU. I will say I am somewhat dismayed that Houston was able to maintain their lead until 00:00. I was impressed with the coaching job Houston's HC did. He flat out-coached Jimbo, and the team outplayed FSU.

The hell he isnt. Marshall had a cannon, but he wasnt accurate. Watson is accurate with the same moves on the ground game.
I think of him as NM 2.0. I'd rather have accurate than cannon.
