Would explain the full court press the staff (and players) are putting on Stidham

Recognition that Sean is unlikely to ever be more than serviceable to good (versus very good to elite) even when healthy would also explain it. Nothing against the kid - actually admire his toughness and competitiveness - just think there are better candidates to make us more competitive at the highest levels.

SW would be a great back up to Stidham.

I think White would be outstanding in an air raid offense like what Leach runs where he doesn't ask his QB to throw bombs but pick apart defenses. Our offense needs a guy that can hit 2-3 deep balls a game to keep the safeties out of the box

Knowing what we known now about JJ, we haven't had a good backup Cox was behind Campbell

(I think Neil Caudle could've been a capable backup but he never got a chance so we'll never know)

It'll be a comfortable feeling knowing that if our starter goes down we won't have to hold out breath, because the backup will actually be capable of leading the team and winning

I talked to my insider last night and he said SW will be good to go for the Sugar Bowl.

"Good to go" = he is traveling, he is less than 100% and playing, or he is fully recovered?

This is the painful truth.

What's even more frustrating is that the guys we expected to be solid backups and eventual starters were our most highly ranked recruits: Kodi, Keihl and JJ.

Failure to develop a credible #2 guy in '07,'10, and '14 led directly to the disasters in '08,'11-12, and'15.

A guy I work with (bama fan) said Sean came out at half time of the IB going through warm ups and throwing the ball with zip... he thought SW was going to start the 2nd half. Jay Tate also tweeted before the IB that Sean had decent velocity going through pregame warm ups (I'm paraphrasing).

wouldn't be shocked if he's close to 100% come Jan 2nd.

My concern is he's probably not gonna throw a ton during bowl prep... Timing with WRs is always off in bowl games anyway... It's gonna be worse for white and our guys.

But we'll see.

Given the rumors on this board, I will just be happy to know the kid is recovered.

I heard Gus has a Sean White double that he puts out for pregame warmups just to throw the ball around well to confuse the other team. Team goes back in the locker room, real Sean White comes out and sits on sideline.
