Well Gus says he expects him to be ready to go and be out there at practice. That tells me he wont play again this year.

Beginning to think about he may be hurt badly enough that his future ability to compete is in doubt.

Would explain the full court press the staff (and players) are putting on Stidham.

I dont trust anything Gus says.

He has told us for weeks that White is healthy.

I feel as if this is a play to make sure we get the Sugar Bowl invite. I don't have a problem with it. I just dont expect White to play.

This sounds plausible.

TBH, I don't mind it if Gustav is being disingenuous about SW's health. Opposing coaches have done the same to us in the past, and our staff at the time was gullible enough to fall for it.

Did some looking. You are right.

November 6th

quote:

White did not start against Vanderbilt as part of a game-time decision, with the Tigers instead opting to go with junior college transfer John Franklin III out of the gates. After the game, coach Gus Malzahn declined to divulge what White's injury was, only that it occurred last week at Ole Miss

Second time.

quote:

Though Auburn coach Gus Malzahn refused to get into the specifics of the injury, he confirmed that White sat out the first half because of one. It is believed that White suffered an injury to his throwing (right) shoulder one week earlier in a 40-29 win at Ole Miss.

“I’m not getting into all that,” Malzahn said of details on the injury. “It’s an injury. (White)’s our starting quarterback and he’s playing extremely well. He’s tough. He took a beating at Ole Miss.”

“I didn’t say he has a bad shoulder, but he’s beat up,” Malzahn said. “It’s kind of one of those deals at halftime where we just felt we needed a spark,” Malzahn said. “Sean said he could go."

Injured for UGA

quote:

Gus Malzahn said his starting quarterback has been unable to pass to his receivers in practice for two weeks. ... Contrary to Malzahn's statements, several Auburn players said White has been practicing this week.

Malzahn said. "Sean's been our quarterback and has done a good job up to this point. Obviously he's not 100 percent. Didn't practice again this past week throwing the football, but he's a tough guy. That's who got us here and that's who we went with today. He's a tough guy."

Week before Alabama A&M

quote:

Malzahn said White is "kind of day-to-day, week-to-week deal. We'll see how that goes this week." ... White said he suffered a second injury to his shoulder in last Saturday's 13-7 loss at Georgia.

“Sean practiced and wasn’t 100 percent,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said. “We just had to make the decision how healthy he was. We just didn’t think he was healthy enough to play.”
