I did not watch the game on TV. Hard to see at the game. Was it the correct call?

He'll be available for all of the ULM game. Hopefully the coaches get in his ear about not lowering his head like that. Many spine injuries have happened like that.

Was a normal football play. Not dirty. But definitely led with the crown of his helmet. Right call.

Aden Key did the same thing later in the game, but he wasn't ejected. Not sure why.

I was coming to say this. Tre led with his crown and eyes down but he would have hit Etling's waist had he not gone down a split second before contact. It wasn't a malicious hit and by the rules he should be tossed but in reality he shouldn't if it was incidental.

Arden Key's was worse to me because White was upright and he dropped his helmet at the last second and hit him high. Much more intentional in my eyes and he should have been tossed too if you toss Tre.

Thought that call was iffy, but when he got ejected I was so mad. Also couldn't tell if Ruffin went for seconds on the face mask scrape of Etlings head once his helmet was off. He had an LSU player kind of pushing him down on top of him.

Unrelated, Is Byron Cowart alive?

Marlon Davidson is a beast, Cowart is not living up to the hype.

yeah at first I thought it was gonna be on Ruffin for giving the QB the Fairley business by the ticky tack rule the Williams ejection was right but it was borderline and just a bang bang play. I have no idea why Key didnt get tossed later because his hit was legit intentional. made it great for them to lose the way they did with 15 seconds of last second glory before being nut punched by replay. frick lsu

It's pretty incredible watching Marlon Davidson play like a man possessed as a TF against LSU.

It was the right call technically. I was originally pissed because the QB ducked down on what would have been clean.

I was really pissed when the shot to White was not an ejection.

I'm surprised Mathews didn't get anything from extra face mask scraping of the QB's face...

Damn, he looked like he was motor grading Etling's face and took a layer of skin with him.

Agreed, it was clear Key dropped his helmet intentionally going in to tackle White.

If Tre was still in, I don't think LF gets a 100 yds last night. If Key is out, I think we score a TD.

Who did we take instead of Key? I thought I remember we slowed played him for someone else??? Or was he always headed to LSU? That dude is good and I thought so last year as well during his freshman season.

I don't think we slow played him as much as couldn't take another multi year project. That was when we were really thin at end and needed immediate help so they went with Jeff holland and Cowart. Then when Jefferson didn't pan out we got Prince as a project.

As a freshman, Key was a pass rush specialist for situational downs. He wasn't an every down guy. Not sure where he will be projected in the NFL either, he is 6'6 or so and that is tall for a linebacker but he is long and still lanky to an extent so an end might be out too.

Don't forget that at the time Holland + COwart were talking about a package deal with CeCe Jefferson, who was considering Auburn as well. Add in another project player we took in Prince Tega

Arden Key had some work to do in the classroom as well. He had a path to qualifying but it wasn't some sure thing so we focused our effort on the package of 3

He picked up and slammed LF7 at one point.
