On jet sweeps?

How do you know this, coach?

He would get to the edge quicker. It's common sense.

If he is NOT the best QB and other players are more suited to the other positions (WR/RB/defense), why does there have "to be a role"?

We have him on scholarship, let's find a way for him to earn his money. I would love to see him on returns, sweeps, screens, or whatever else gives him the ability to break a play because he can. Why would you want to keep that kind of talent off the field?

Why in the world would I want to pull the freshman WRs that are big, fast, and producing when given the opportunity to create a "role" for a player who can't seem to win one in practice and on the field?

I did not say he needed to be a WR, but when you have the fastest guy in the stadium sitting on the bench it is a mistake.

Classic Brannigan. Come on man. If he is that fast and whatever, put him at safety for a while and see what happens (like Rudy).

I was just kidding. Well mostly kidding.

My real answer is this. JF3 is the fastest football player I've ever seen in my life. Period. I can see the potential the coaches see in him. But he will never put it together at qb.

WR seems like the go to position. Since he was a qb, he understands route combos. You want to use his speed as a weapon in any way possible.

But me I love speed on defense. I would put him at corner. He is cocky enough to play the position. No one in America could run by him. His recover speed would be amazing. He had great height for a corner. Okie the selling point of how corners get paid in the NFL.

That's a damn good idea.

CB and return specialist. Give him the occasional wildcat snaps in very specific situations.

My only concern is his lack of football awareness. Maybe it wouldn't be as obvious as it is when he's QB.

Easy game plan with JF3. If we want the defense back on the field put him in, count to 3, and watch the fumbling ensue.

Though a little over dramatic, I have always believed this. You can not teach a player in college to play a new position, especially a big change, in one season.

Has JF III ever played DB before? Did he play it in high school? If he did, I could see the switch being possible. If not, it would probably be a stretch to assume he can offer anything defensively.

I agree with him staying in the offense. Would a return man and speed sweep RB be a new position? I just want to see him run fast.

Just saw in an SDS article that he left FSU because they tried to move him to WR.

If he's smart he won't try that again, not even the JUCo started him, and the NFL won't consider him at QB either.

I don't know. But look at Nick Marshall - QB or DB? A QB should have some awareness of secondary schemes and vice versa. I suggested safety because I thought his closing speed would best fit there. I don't know how he feels about hitting but his speed would be best utilized as a receiver (sweeps, etc) or DB. Corner or safety I don't know, but safety seems more logical. Look at Rudy. He was basically recruited as a RB (if I remember correctly) but due to needs and thinking down the line, he offered, I believe, to make the switch. A smart switch for everyone.

JF3 needs to be on the field. If anyone would take a look at next year's depth chart on both sides, it might help
us figure out where he might best fit and that would still mean absolutely nothing;-). If he ain't scared to hit, I would give him a shot at free safety, maybe KO or punt return and a special WC package or 3-4 select plays on O. Just me tho. WD

.... or right now, as in this week, in McCalleb role. Crazy speed and he knows how to run for his life. Just go in the right direction, hold onto the ball!!!!!, and don't get too concerned with blocking assignments on a possible one game need. Need year someone needs to splain it to him.

edit: 2add... although you might think he's quick enough to get to a block

Oh, I see...everybody that doesn't agree with you is a "dumbass". You're what we call a "punk motherfricker" where I grew up. :-)

White is as accurate a quarterback as there is on short and mid-range throws, but saying he's accurate on the deep ball is silly. He's not, he knows it and everybody else does. You can see it on film. Except for you. Who's the dumbass?
you are projecting your own punk motherfrickery. I think you will be hard pressed to show where i said Sean is accurate on the deep ball. Point is, if Sean is overthrowing the WRs we have currently, it makes sense that he wouldnt overthrow the fastest guy on the team. See now dumbass?
