Charlie Harbison. Our Safeties coach. It does seem our secondary got worse when he returned but it could be coincidence.
I still think our biggest problem is no pass rush. Followed by missed tackles and lack of experienced quality CBs.
If you have no pass rush and a great secondary the offense is still going to have time to find holes or mistakes by the secondary.
If you have a good pass rush from the front 4 it forces the offense to make mistakes and limits their ability to take advantage of the secondary. Which is what happened last year. Most of our key plays were made in the backfield or were when our DLine got pressure and we had a slightly better secondary. Couple that with the players making the tackles when they had the chance and you had a decent defense.
We have to find some Linemen that can get pressure and EJ needs to put the players back through the drills they did when the staff first got here, that improved tackling last year from the year before.
