Disagree. Kiehl Frazier was definitely a misread.

Gus wasn't the only one who thought JJ was it. Kid was Mr. Alabama Football. He was picked by media, talking heads, etc as a preseason Heisman favorite. That's not just coming from Gus. Something happened to JJ mentally and there are plenty of cases in sports where this happens and an athlete just can't get it back. I've said before look at Rick Ankiel.

We need a QB as many have said. Find a quality QB and we will win more fooseball games

Next year is a much tougher schedule, but I agree that the team has to do really well next year.

As bad as this year was, we were close in most games despite our anemic offense. As long the defense continues to improve, we should be okay.

If Jay Jacobs is allowed to hire another football coach at Auburn, we'll be back in the same position in another 3 or 4 years. We got Gary Patterson to the table in 2008 and the guy walked out the door in the middle of negotiations. Since then, we've hired a 5-19 coach and a guy not even 10 years removed from being a high school coach with one year of college head coaching experience. That is shameful, and Auburn can do better than settling for the good ole boy network hiring personal friends and buddies.

I agree with most of that.

Also, Florida and Michigan beg to differ.

Florida isn't really any better than Auburn. They just play in the East and got the few lucky bounces we didn't. Outside of Ole Miss they don't have a single impressive win and their offense may be worse than ours.

Just want to point out Gary Patterson had subpar seasons as well.
2010 - 13-0
2011 - 11-2
2012 - 7-6
2013 - 4-8

He did bounce back nicely when Boykin started at QB.

What makes a lot of you think JJ will transfer or sit next year? He played this year after taking a shite on the field 90% of the time he was in and the coaches STILL had him out there 100% of the time. That isn't going to change.

I know we've discussed JUCO options but are there any grad transfers we may have a shot at QB wise? What about Malik Zaire, could he be a candidate if he thinks Kizer is gonna keep the ND job?

He lost 20 starters this year and look at their team and record. 2013 was a direct result of multiple injuries. Patterson is a very good coach. And he is doing it at TCU.

Bingo...this is why we had Chizik and now Malzahn. Hell, it's also why JJ is the AD.

When we don't worry about 'Auburn connections' we end up with coaches like Bruce Pearl.

Thirdly, some changes need to be made with strength and conditioning. I realize I'm being a coach from the couch, but these problems are overwhelmingly obvious

Don't blame Ryan Russell. He just gets the players in the playing conditions the on field coaches ask for

He is legit, just think how he got Gabe Wright from 320+ to 280 in an off season. He deserves an award for turning that human Cheeto into a slim jim

It is obviously that all the posters here are wildly successful in their chosen career endeavors and as such contribute much monetarily to Auburn University's various needs.
Or as I suspect most whining and bitchin are as my daddy would say " a bunch of yahoos who never did anything on their own in their life"
If you are offended by this, then you obviously are.

What's been incredible is that we've pretty much done the same things offensively all year. The play calling hasn't improved, JJ keeps starting and hasn't gotten any better. Does anyone remember the definition of insanity?

I will throw Gus somewhat of a bone, the offense did start improving during the UK game. The play calling was somewhat shaky, however execution esp. in passing game was moving along with White. Without Sean we went back to herp derp play calling and JJ not being able to hit a barn. So how much of Gus not being able to call plays on JJs ability to execute?

"this season belongs to our arrogant hick head coach."

Pat Dye had absolutely nothing to do with this season! Don't you dare blame him!

Maybe I am too passive, but I don't see that many better alternatives out there. I did see the potential if we had average QB play along with decent play calling. We were in every game except LSU. Much different from 2012 when you could see we were fukd right at kickofff.

Good offensive coaches find ways around that. Alabama's QBs this season and last have not been good. Maybe not as bad as JJ is, but still mediocre QBs at best. Kiffin has made that offense great by focusing on the playmakers. Too many times this season and some last season the running game started working and then we got cute with play calling. Robinson was having a great first half in the game today, and then what happens? We take him out completely in the second half. I don't get it. I'm also having trouble with the whole "JJ had a mental breakdown" narrative. Is it not the job of the head coach and coaching staff to make sure that the QB is prepared to be the leader of the team? Wouldn't they have noticed those qualities in practice? And if he's really just a bust, is that not yet another indictment on Gus' ability to evaluate recruits?

Can't agree more. He reminds me of Barfield.
