Does anyone think he has plays a significant role in the play calling? Seems like all of the focus is on Gus?

If Gus is calling plays that leaves the QB's for Lashlee to develop. If that's the case, we saw little growth from Marshall in his 2nd season and JJ is a disaster in his 3rd year in the system

What are we paying Lashlee for?

Ok, but we have D Craig also? He's a "Co" OC who's also big in recruiting. Has anyone been impressed with Lashlee as a recruiter?

I'd like to see D. Craig work with QB's and have someone else over WR's. Lashlee can go be an OC or HC somewhere else. I think everyone wins in this scenario

Wouldn't hurt my feelings at all,but would Gus ever give over control?
I. Think right now we are looking at Mocha Cam2.0.

Today's my melt day I was busy over the weekend and will be tied up for the rest of this week so I need to get it all out of my system before the big melt this Saturday

I've worried about this since the trouble in the first game, but I believe Malzahn is sticking with JJ to avoid this happening.

JJ is better than KF. We never should have been in the position of having to come from behind in the final minutes of the game, but we did and the pass from JJ to Ray in he end zone was huge. I don't recall KF ever making any plays when needed.

Was it just me or did CRL takeover on the final play of that awful January game in 2014? Seemed like he drew up the play and Gus walked over and CRL said back off, basically, and that was that. Gus walked away.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure not going to go look it up. But I think he keeps Gus from going too Mickey mouse.

I think the biggest thing CRL does is help Gus read the defensive alignments to adjust play calls.

Typically Gus stays behind the offense and Rhett is at the opposite end of the box behind the defense.

I'm sure he does nothing, undecided.

You want to put D. Craig there in Lashlee's position so you can bitch about him doing nothing too?

right now, I have to guess that he is stealing a lot of money from AU, one game at a time

I've been asking this for a while now.

My understand is Rhett gives Malzahn 3 play options based on coverage plus down and distance.

If he is the qb coach, then he is overpaid.

Marshall with an inferior OL/run game went from 14-6 to 20-7 TD-INT and 600 yards more. His passer rating went up ~10 points, improved YPA and completion %.

I'm not saying it was Lashlee but Marshall definitely improved

JJ's poor play is on JJ's decision making. Nothing more, nothing less. I am sure that the phrase "throw it away" or "this is your secondary receiver" are not new to him.

I stand corrected.

I think the play calling is a joint effort. My understanding is that each group has their own signals and coaches delivering it to them.

He is a glorified GA. He shags balls for the qbs at practice and cold calls recruits
