Agree. A QB with more than one year at the controls. I long for a day when we have a QB play 3 straight year. And play well.

I really want Malzahn to be the guy.

I like he admits he screwed up.

I just hope he can really become an elite head coach.

I agree here and feel the same way. My concern is that he's still so young in terms of HC experience....I truly think that if we end up firing Gus that he's going to resurface somewhere else and become a top dog HC in college FB again and we'll be pissed off. With more experience he's absolutely going to get better. I'd prefer we exercise more patience than we have in the past in regards to canning Gus. If he's been willing to make some changes and we can have an 8 win or more season and be competitive I think he should get another year. JMO.

The next thing I'd like to see him change is his stance on his QBs working with outside QB coaches. There is nothing bad that can come from that.

I do know what was meant by his fricking question because he asked it. If he wanted to know an answer to another question, I think he would've asked a different question.

WTF was your point then? Yeah both options suck. I got that. Anything else?

As long as we see some improvement this year and next, I am not against being a little patient. But sometimes it takes getting fired in order to see clearly what you need to improve. I don't disagree that Gus could be a great HC one day. But having him hang around like Mark Richt isn't going to help anybody.

I like that Gus says he messed up trying to be the CEO, but I would feel better if he had said "I learned you can't run the read option when the QB is no threat to run and never keeps the ball. We will either get a duel threat QB or change the running game."

Gus will be a top tier coach when he realizes he can't develop QBs/be an elite pass game coach

Once he accepts that he needs to bring in an OC who fills that role and can help him in that capacity he will be solid

I think if the offense sputters again like last year then Gus will face the ultimatum of firing CRL or going out the door with him.

I too am expecting little to nothing.

Bring on the "we had a good week of practice" lines.

Little info for everyone...

Jay Tate dropped a hint earlier that although Auburn likely isn't getting Davis Webb, there are others in play. Apparently, the name Eli Jenkins (another former "thug POS" that could transfer to Auburn) is being thrown around. I realize his name has been thrown out there before, but apparently there's a chance that the charges against him will be dropped. I mean, the guy did almost beat Auburn.

Dual threat?
POS?
Transfer?
African American?

15-0, SHIP!

all this stuff is telling me is that if we do not get a good quarterback transfer soon, we are screwed. If Johnson and white are still the front-runners with Franklin competing for the job, all that tells me is he is either as good as them or Worse which means we are in a bad position.

I'll let it be known that I don't want him, either.

On top of the DV stuff which will probably get dropped, he had shoulder surgery this off season

The fact that we are in year 4 of Gus's tenure and we are having to scramble to find a competent player at QB is pretty concerning. I am still on the Gus Bus but man it's frustrating to think in 4 years we couldn't develop a QB to take over for NM

Not sure how well this would play in locker room. You have 3 guys battling for spot then bring in a 4th in the fall to take the spot. But then again winning usually cures all so if Webb or Jenkins can win maybe the only people pissed would be our current terrible QBs
