You will find Arkansas #117 out of 128 FBS teams. They gave up 275 yards and ~65% completion

White easy. He can be a game manager and Chris Todd type. That doesn't win us more than 8 games

With our OL, previous poor defenses and unproven WRs, we don't get to 10 plus wins with Sean White. Not based on any performance he gave last year

OH so Auburn is the only team in college football to have drops vs Arkansas? Most teams average 2-3 drops in CFB on >30 attempts.

Even so, if you play that game you can offset all those yards by eliminating the 50 yards on Ricardo diving catches in the 4th quarter on shitty White throws.

It is a good thing that unlike Brandon Harris White should get better.

Gus historically has a shitty intermediate passing game, aren't great utilizing backs out of the backfield and our bubble screens are Meh from both setting up or production

Basically Sean White's game isn't right for Gus. He can't afford to need to develop if he is overcoming the massive scheme obstacles. Nick Marshall wouldn't have fit in a Mike Leach offense either.

That's pretty bold IMO. 9 wins seems like a pretty good year given the circumstances.

given the circumstances.
what circumstances? We are better in the trenches than last year, LB is much improved, secondary is the best in the Gus era. Our defense is going to be better than any defense we have had since the Tubs years.

On offense, we finally have a starting RB that is a fricking beast. FACT. We are going to feed JR down everyone's throats and make them like it. We finally have a Qb that can make accurate throws under pressure, isnt afraid to stay in the pocket and is a fricking gamer. Does he have limitations, sure. Height and arm strength. But he has heart and the will to win. I'll take that anyday. WRs are addition by subtraction. ie it cant be worse. OL is going to be good. Golson, Kozan, Xavier, Braden and Texas guy.

So in summation, we have a good defense, a great running attack and a serviceable passing game.

Miss State, Arkansas, aTm, Vandy & 3 powder puff games are guaranteed wins. Win 2-4 against LSU, UGA, Ole Miss and Bama and were at 9 with a bowl game for 10. Win 1 out of the four and we can get to 9 with a bowl game.

We had him last year and our coaches continued to take him out in the second half.

None of these statements are saying a whole lot.

This is assuming he remains healthy and returns to how he looked early in the season.

So we are banking on a few true freshmen. Awesome.

We almost lost to JSUlast year. Calling any of those four a guarantee is a stretch.

Win 2-4 against LSU, UGA, Ole Miss and Bama

Winning 2 of those 4 would be huge this year.

Not saying 9 is impossible but I will most definitely be pleased if we somehow pull it together.

As you are aware, last year's results have zero impact on this year. So why do you lean on last year to justify your views on this year? Makes no sense.

You are correct that last year's results have zero impact, but to insist that it can't be used as a barometer in predicting the future is a bit asinine. I know we have had some really good years after bad years lately but those typically came with a new QB.

I simply do not have high expectations for this year. Hell I will be pleased if we can actually score a TD in the redzone. Good news is if we don't Carlson should lock up the Groza.

The kid was a freshman. He will probably improve. Stan White improved from when he played as a freshman. Jason Campbell did also. Most players improve from when they were a freshman. Hell, very very few start as freshmen.

Big difference in true freshman and redshirt freshman. I'm not really doubting Sean's ability but more our coaches.

this is JMO, but i tend to think that (in CFB) the jimmies and joe's are way more important than the Xs and Os when it comes to teams fielding a good, or bad, defense. I will say that we have more quality jimmies and joes than we've had in many years on D. Steele is certainly no guru, but he's not the worst DC in the world or anything. He's gotten some great gigs and that certainly isn't just by pure mistake over and over. He is what he is....a solid DC, and that's about it. Doesn't mean we can't field a very good defense because of the players running it though.
