Bro, NMSU is one of the worst FB programs in FCS. With that said I am concerned about the game, but not because of what LSU can do, but some of the things we are not doing well.

why do you think we can't seem to get any positive plays on the sweep?
Wr are not setting the edges, allowing the to crash down.

I want this game so bad. I wont handle a loss too well.

On those sweep plays, if the WR can't set the edge, I wish the runner would just cut and get what he can. Grant and CAP seem to think by running backwards a little around the edge they can get positive yards...highly frustrating as a fan. Do we coach this?
One action we cannot do against LSU is dance around. When our WR/RBs get a screen, they can't juke an LSU player. They need to play north-south as much as possible.

First start, on the road, at JHS. What could go wrong for Harris?

I know, I want to crush LSU myself...

Glad I know where you stand on the idiot scale.

JJ is the best qb but I cannot think of any player that I would pick over NM when the game is on the line. Put the ball in that kids hand and he wins. Would not bet against him. I vote NM because he just wins baby.

I'll take your word for it as you came with the boom stick knowledge on your rebuttal. Your problem is you think you're smarter than you really are, which makes you out yourself as a douche on a regular basis.

Your rebuttal had zero to do with my post.

Then you pegged out the "idiot scale".

We weren't even on anyone's radar until we beat TAMU in week 7. And most teams tried to force us to pass but we didn't have to as often because of Tre and the line.
But now we are the second biggest target on the SEC schedule and people are watching and learning. It's time to open up the playbook.
But maybe "try it til it works!" will get buried after we lose to Mississippi State.

If you can't see the shortcomings of this team compared to last year, you sir lack "football knowledge".
this is what you said... i'm in agreement, we have significant shortcomings... i even made a topic about us looking like shite... but at the same time, that doesn't mean I want to throw out sophomore QB with little experience with the "meat" of out SEC schedule up next.
NM has won an SEC Championship... he was seconds away from leading this team to its 3rd NC in 60 years.... he's led game winning drives against MSU, A&M, and KSU (two of which were on the road). the people who want to throw out Nick Marshall because of our struggles these first four games are idiots, IMO (granted, it's my opinion, and i've been wrong plenty of times).

I don't think we should change. With that being said, Marshall is in the game because of what he does for the running game. If for some reason, our running game gets shut down, I'd rather ride it out with JJ's arm over Marshall's.

You totally left off the most meaningful part of my post, specifically referring to the dual 1st round draft picks at WR.

I really don't think there will be much choice. AU hasn't faced much competition yet.

AU is in no way, shape, or form comparable to last year - just look at rushing stats for reference against weak competition this year. Circumstances lead to performance, and this year isn't setting up for NM to do well as the starter. AU will have to take advantage of the talent at WR, and use the traditional method of opening up the run game. In my opinion, NM will not be able to harness that talent and force people to respect the pass. With the way AU's OL is playing, with no push, AU will not be able to run at will.

you're entitled to you opinion.... marshall has won games with his arm, while JJ has had mop up duty against La Tech, Western Carolina, FIU, and Arkansas's crap defenses. Marshall also helps open up the running game, where as JJ appears to be a liability (he's failed so far this year on the read option).
we'll see it play out.... but Malzahn is likely going to stick with NM, baring an injury.
