Hipsters will love this shite. Apple stock will rise on news that the companies leader is a "fearless" homosexual male in industry dominated by egotistical shovanistic men. Tim Cook will be proclaimed a hero for all young children to look up too

It was the worst kept "secret" in business. Everyone knew pretty much for a fact but because he never publicly addressed it, everyone did the polite thing and didn't discuss it. Then a guy on a financial news channel committed a faux pas and spoke about it like it was common knowledge (it was, but went against the politeness of not touching on it). I guess now he's finally announcing it.

I have no problem with Tim Cook and or his personal life. However when he was quoted as saying "Being gay is one of Gods greatest gifts to him". I nearly spit out my coffee.

I am not bigotted toward gays, but as much as I love women, I just cant get it in my head that some other dudes like to suck dick.

if a dude likes to suck cock or either take it in the arse or give it in a dude's arse, I cannot trust them. That is messed up. Wish I lived in Russia or Iran.

Wish he had made a big public donation to Auburn at the same time.

But I honestly thought Cook being gay was long known?

Good for him. Hope he continues to live a happy successful life and donates plent to Auburn

Indeed.

And I have no problem with him using his position and influence to attempt to effect the change he feels needs to occur with regard to the civil rights of gays.

As far as I've seen (at least so far), he's made no threats or judgements towards those that oppose or are less in favor of more open civil rights for gays. He's just now publicly spoken in favor of his own position.

Good for him. The part of the gay rights movement that I absolutely despise is the portion that forcibly "outs" gays that don't want to be "outed" because they happen to have different politics than themselves. Or the attempts to use "gay rights" as a bludgeon on Christian folks that run private businesses. As far as I've seen, Cook doesn't seem to be that type.

Don't get mad about it (I'm not saying any of you are). This is a good thing for the university.

I can tell you for a 99.99% certainty that when he was a student at Auburn, he had to have been closeted tighter than an AUMB snare drum. "Those folk" just weren't welcome (at least known and publically) around these here parts back then, sadly enough (and I plead guilty to that attitude in my youth).

Damn, dude.

Reach down and check your gonads. They still there? They working OK? Testosterone production still on-line?

You'll be OK then, buddy. The gays like the gays.

I'm sure you are right in large part, but I remember back in the mid-80's when I was in school there was a gay organization that had Eagles in the name. I guess at the time it was kind of courageous to be so open like that. I know some people said "who cares" like it's no big deal, but after reading some of the comments here it will take people like Tim to continue speaking up. I'm getting close to old fart, but find myself very pleased that younger folks today are more open to people who were BORN like that.

I also have had my mind changed so thoroughly on this subject over the past 30 years.

Me too. Why do I care what the heck other people do between consenting adults? You stay out of my business, I'll stay out of yours.
