“One of the Auburn assistants told me, ‘this game is likely going to cost us our job, we totally collapsed,’” Landry said.

quote:

“That coaching staff was distraught,” Landry said during his weekly podcast after having talked to Auburn assistant coaches both during the week prior to Auburn’s trip to LSU as well as the Sunday morning after the game. “You’ve got the defensive coaches who felt like they had a great game plan, you’ve got the offensive staff who were frustrated about how things were done.

Duh. Cash those big checks, and you accept the risk.

On a positive note...Gus said we just had our best practice since the season started.

This is only the case if "we are going to fix it AND this will not happen again". Gus is like a tarded "Good Guy Doll" with the batteries still in. Or a drunk Teddy Ruxpin.

As we’ve said on this board before, it isn’t that we lost to Clemson, or a talented LSU. It is how Gus always manages to lose in the most inexplicably frustrating and avoidable ways possible, in games we can very easily win if he was a shade of the man he was before 2013.

This is just the man he is now. He will never learn to get out of his own way, I’m fully convinced.

I swear we'd run the table if they'd fire that dipshit Gus. It's so painfully obvious when he takes control of the offense.

That definitely stood out. Gus may lose the staff before he loses the players.

The defense didn't do that great of job...

Two starters out, Williams and Mathews, one TD was on special teams, run run pass three and out Gus in the second half. I think they did their job

Gassed in the second half. The over the head diving catch by Gage/Etling was the best football play of both their lives. Couldn't be defended

Our stately could have at least jumped with him and his body could have made a great catch even the tiny bit more difficult. He just stopped and watched..

I saw maybe four critical errors by the defense:

- Blown coverage by Roberts on Chark on their first possession (recovered the fumble so it didn't hurt)
- Missed assignment on the jet sweep for 70 yards to set up their first TD
- Carlton Davis breaking on the ball late, allowing another 30 yard gain by Chark leading to their 2nd TD
- Dropped INT just before the half

Those four plays accounted for 140+ of their 360 yards and led to both of their TDs.

I love our defense but the dbs refuse to turn and look for the ball.

This pic needs Gus' head on it... it sums up his play calling perfectly

They could use work, but they're good enough to take on any SEC quarterback. I was more referring to how LSU scored. That was an incredible throw and catch.

All he had to do was make the tackle instead of going for the ball.

Yep... or all Holland had to do was wrap up on 4th and Goal.... or all #24 had to do was catch the gift-wrapped INT.

We make any one of those three plays IN THE FIRST HALF and the game is over... not to mention the 2nd half clusterfuk.

It's just excruciating reading stuff like this because it would have been so simple to win that game. That game was huge and I'm not sure this team and staff can recover from it. So much at stake a Gustard fricking blew it in such an epic fashion
