I'd rather kick Braden Smith out to right tackle and play Mike Horton at right guard, or let Darius James play right tackle.

That is my thinking. The only concern is why Leff owuld even be able to start over those scenarios. Makes me worried

I'm just hoping it is only spring practice deference to a SR.

I think Braden Smith has a chance to be a really high draft pick as a guard, but we need to assemble to best offensive line for 2016. Tackle is thin in experience and talent.

He could be out after the spring but I don't see it. He really likes his social scene here

I don't ever see him making much of an impact on the field.

I've been hoping to hear something out of Richard McBryde.

Golson | Kozan | Dampeer | Horton | Smith

Kinda scares me. That's 2 guys out of position, one guy that previously broke his back, a RS FR, and an inexperienced C that was punched out by a diva headcase WR in a club

Basically any lineup scares me at this point. There's not a lot to get excited about on offense.

per Jay Tate.

I assume that is in reference to the offense and John Franklin III's development based on the direction of the thread.

Smith was below average at RT when he played there a few times.

Why not slide Kozan over to OC? We could plug one of the young guys at OG.

Also if our D is winning in practice, then we need to assume our O is awful again. There is no evidence that Steele will improve the D. Yet plenty of evidence our O is garbage.

Well he certainly isn't gonna have time to build his confidence. Clemson is gonna be pinning their ears back every play.

So I'd say if he gets through that game looking average to decent, he will be trending up

Clemson is pretty weak on the DL next year. The were annihilated by early entrants in the draft on defense. They'll be really good at Lb, but that's honestly it.

Their OFFENSE however......

They lost MacKensie Alexander, Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd, Jayron Kearse (not a big loss), TJ Green and DJ Reader on defense...all starters.

They will go in dry on Auburn's defense.

So after 3 different practice reports, three different people think someone leads for QB

With all of this "insider" stuff I like to just pull out the common threads which seem to be

1.) Franklin is super fast but sucks at passing and is tiny
2.) Deshaun Davis is having a big spring
3.) We don't have a go to WR yet
4.) We are at least attempting to have a TE on the field
5.) The OL is a question we haven't answered yet
6.) Pace seems to once again in practice at least be a focus (I need to see it return to a game before I get too excited)

I honestly won't feel good about offense till I see them on the field against another opponent. I am cautiously optimistic our defense can improve on last season if we stay healthy. Still a very long way from knowing what we got

Do they still have that running back who was tearing it up last year?

I used to feel this way until I looked...really looked....at their OL. I do think that our front 4 will be able to absolutely terrorize Watson and maybe force an ill-advised throw or 2 that we can get our hands on. He's 100% going to "get his" out there along the way, but I think our D will be able to put up a respectable showing out there. The major major key will be can our bigger corners keep step and jam the Clemson WR at the LOS. The Carlton Davis v. Mike Williams matchup gives me a football chub!!! (no homo....maybe)

My hope is that they plan to man up on Monty w/ just Guerillmo (All Conference C) because I believe from a talent perspective he won't be able to handle Monty.

They'll have a new G and the other is Ty Crowder (young but a stud) so i think we'll go at the right side hard....between the new G and then the RT likely going to a RSFr (Fruhmorgen) they could see some mistakes there while the OL is gelling. Mitch Hyatt is very talented at LT but again he's still just a Soph and will have a newbie at Guard beside him.

The rest of the offense is basically the tits. 5 deep with absolute studs at WR and a very good RB (plus 5* Feaster joining in the summer) and Deshaun Watson.

You pretty much nailed it. I am waiting for 9 games to decide if I am all in this year.

I only gave to wait the first game. It's going to tell us a lot.

I was pretty much saying I won't be jumping on the team wagon for a while. I don't care how good they may look the first game.
